It's absolutely bizarre His stats are better than Coutinho's over 2 seasons & a £138m bid was turned down for him & he's got the best goals+assists over 2 seasons £45m would have been a bargain in a world where Kyle Walker went for £50m, Coutinho bid turned down & a kid went for £166m - With the prices going around he could have been bought for £50-£70m Staggering. Oh well, our gain
mozartfox Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 At least he has not feind injury like DD did. He has been badly advised by his knob of an agent. welcome him back with open arms.

Wymsey Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 Would take £40m and Munir. If he was more consistent, personally wouldn't take any offer under £50m.

Oh well, our gain Yeah but Coutinho has looked good for Liverpool since he joined. That's three/four/five seasons. Mahrez messed up last season really. If he'd had looked interested/played well then perhaps there might be more interest. Nobody is going to pay £50mill on the back of one superb season.

No, they pay £166m for that Mahrez isn't as bad as made out last season, the team were collectively awful - He just didn't hit the heights as the season before. Would you say the same about Hazard He's showing this season he's the real deal with 3 assists again already

Either or tbh, pretty obvious his agents had a complete mare with this He wouldn't have been able to leave the Algeria camp unless he was 100% certain something was going to happen yesterday You can say Silva wouldn't have been able to do it either but I think the Drinkwater to Chelsea deal was pretty nailed on even before yesterday

Hazard has been superb since he joined Chelsea. One bad season out of five or six. Mahrez has had one superb season, it's not comparable to Hazard. And yeah, he has started the season well. I posted about it the other day in the artist thread. I've been impressed with him so far. Of course I like Mahrez and I think he's a good player, don't get me wrong, but there's a reason why nobody will pay £50mill.

The team needs him, he didn't refuse to play, he already got humbled by what happened the least 3 days, no need to humiliate the man, that's just asking for trouble! The environment in here is really toxic, and I am sad for Mahrez to have to live with it any longer! This crowd is rude ( with some exceptions of course), and does not deserve his talent nor his status of the Best Player of the Year. They compare his last season to Coutinho's or Hazard's!!! If at least they had the dignity and courage to acknowledge that the whole squad is a Championship level squad at best (with 1/2 exceptions), plus all the pressure and burden he had to handle to create the game while being asked to drop back to help a shameful porous back and mid- defense. I only wish for Riyad to keep up with his art and class till January, and move on from this place! Time will tell .. and will prove his value somewhere more recognizant than these masses.

Comparing Gerrard and Hazard the past seasons with Mahrez is to my humble opinion an insult to the guy. Compare apples to apples for God's sake. Gerrard and Hazard were surrounded by world class and recognized talented athletes. Mahrez was surrounded by whom??? huh? This is soccer not ping pong. A talented player needs still a solid matrix around to flourish and bloom.

I wasn't comparing Hazard or Gerrard in terms of ability. Read again. I was comparing Gerrard in terms of being the only "world class" player in the side. It's definitely not soccer either. By the way, we're Leicester City fans not Riyad Mahrez fans.

Dude, chill out a bit. Don't take the vocal minority as a representation of all Leicester fans. We love him here and I'm sure the vast majority want him to stay. He's one of the most talented players we've ever had, certainly in my lifetime of supporting the team since the early 80s. Lots of people are being repressed Brits and resorting to the "never wanted him" or "he's rubbish anyway" as a way of coping. It's what we do. Like when rejected by a girl/boy, you say "well, I never fancied you, and your breath stinks..." As for reading the "insults". Do what a lot of us do, ignore them, take them as throwaway comments or, if you are a real Leicester fan, think of the bigger picture. We welcome all comers to the boards and having a different insight into the game is great. I love hearing other fans' perspectives, but you aren't going to get any love taking a player-centric view of the world and defending the individual above anything else. People are mainly on here as they love Leicester, and some will take every opportunity to attack you if you talk against the club. Hopefully knowing all that helps see where "we" are coming from. Again, welcome to the forum, and remember, we're all Leicester here!
