The fickleness of football fans, it seems, knows no bounds. Hope his early season form continues. See you all for more of the same in January.

fazzyfox Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 I don't know what he can think the club have done wrong. They keep saying they have had no acceptable offers, if he thinks they are setting the price too high then he does not rate himself as a player capable of beating opponents for fun, or that deserves the wage he is on, as these do / would cost £45-£50 million plus in a world where Kyle Walker costs £50 million. Of course he's frustrated, he must feel he can more than hold his own at Champions League and top 6 level, I'm genuinely surprised that clubs don't feel that spending £50 million plus wages to get him for 3 or 4 seasons would improve them significantly enough. Other than Hazard, who beats opponents as confortabley and regularly as Mahrez? Come on Rihad, use this as a positive, we're the best side in the league that doesn't have the potentially tiring impact of European football this season, show everyone again how good you can be and who knows 7th, 6th....4th?

They claimed Barcelona were ready to bid (which they weren't) then they claimed Chelsea bid 45 million (which they didn't). you sure? I read a load of tabloids claimed chelsea bid and even had fee agreed. yet the skysports ticker consistently said "sky sources have been told no bids for mahrez recieved by lcfc". Sky are the one media outlet who got it right. I had SSN on for 8 hours yesterday and I never heard them say even once chelsea had bid for mahrez.
Guest Mee-9 Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 Think he's worth a good booing all season after the way he handled himself yesterday. Either that or booing him just because of his choice of agent.

We knew he wanted a move so not worthy of being booed.

So he didn't fly out to make sure he was available should a bid come in. How can anyone blame him for wanting to move? You have players playing in European competition requesting moves and not playing for their clubs in the process. If he continues to play whilst actively trying to find a better club that match his ambitions, then what more can you ask??

If he's performing well enough in training to warrant a place in the starting line up so he can receive your boos, that would be indicative of good professionalism. How can you boo that? Should be applauded in this day and age.

Only in 2017 could that be considered good professionalism. The whole Mahrez to wherever thing has been one huge embarrassment. No-one has wanted to pay for him. He'll be welcomed back with open arms for two reasons: 1. He's a great player. 2. Football fans are possibly amongst the most fickle group in the population.

Unlike some players who say this is their club and say they're loyal then a few months later they jump ship. In contrast to the likes of Van Dijk and Coutinho he continued to train and play hard (hard is relative for Mahrez) so that must be respected. The best answer we can give is to get behind him and the team and see what they can achieve. I am sure if that happens Mahrez will perform and Leicester will get their £50m minimum in Jan or next summer. Don't be such a plastic fan and boo because we're not winning the league again.

He came out at the end of last season and declared his intention to leave because he believes he is good enough to play regular Champions League football, its debatable whether he actually is. He has always maintained that he will remain professional in training and on the pitch and has so far shown no sign of spitting his dummy out over the asking price. His agent had obviously told him to get to wherever he was because so and so were interested, and to be fair they probably were, just not enough. I think he will continue with the professionalism unlike Van Dijk, Sanchez, Drinkwater, Barkley. He knows he has to perform to get his move.

Vlad the Fox Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 He needs to ditch his agent and make it public. All these rumours of spurs, chelsea, arsenal, man u, barca that suddenly appeared yesterday after weeks of no interest that then forced some of the said clubs to announce that they had no interest interest in Mahrez stinks of his agent holing him up somewhere while he touts him to any club that will listen whilst feeding lies to media outlets. An agent desperately looking for his big pay day, get rid Rihad, he only has interest in his own bank account.

So, IF....he stays with us for the season, and it's due to his goals and assists we qualify for the europa league, and he's been professional throughout this whole saga and been true to his current contract, would you still have this opinion and not celebrate his contribution? Out of spite? Seems to me like you've tried to come across as 'just being honest' on here here for years, but to me it just seems like you're going against the grain on purpose to get a bite.
Vlad the Fox Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 It was hilarious though, Drinky sat waiting in a car outside chelsea training ground and Rihad holed up somwhere, probably drinking tea with prekki.

wokinghamfox Posted 1 September 2017 Posted 1 September 2017 The question is should we play him anymore and i think not. Long term our focus needs to be players that are commited. We have to get a system that doesnt include him to soften the blow of his inveitable departure. Quite honestly he has made it crystal clear that he doesnt want to play for our club anymore so as far as i am concerned he has good as left now.

He's basically on loan till January for me. If he does the job on the pitch that's decent professionalism to me, well, relatively speaking compared to many in his position.
