As much as I would love to I'm not in a position to just go and work where the work is lol I understand people do and can do that but my point was not everyone does that.

So dont jizz on the talented, or capable who dare and  can.

People have made Far more Success than I, goodluck to them, I see no reason to deride them.

The question is should we play him anymore and i think not. Long term our focus needs to be players that are commited. We have to get a system that doesnt include him to soften the blow of his inveitable departure.

Quite honestly he has made it crystal clear that he doesnt want to play for our club anymore so as far as i am concerned he has good as left now.

He's not made it clear that he doesn't want to play for the club anymore at all. He's made it clear that he would like to join another club that can offer him champions league football. He's also committed to do his best for our club whilst he is here. Gradually starting to learn how to succeed without him is a good shout but achieved gradually over time. Right now we need to put out the best team to beat the next opponent and if that means playing him then absolutely he should be picked and if he deserves to be picked due to his efforts, then he deserves to be supported by us. For those that will struggle to do that, be selfish and pretend to support him anyway to help him deliver the goods with confidence and hence for the good of the team and us as a whole.

Bit of conjecture there. Here's my bit:

Everybody wants to see Mahrez do better, the question is: Can he? Does he want to?

Has he rediscovered his motivation? Will he have come to his senses? Has he realized how much of a fool he's made himself look like with his announcement in early summer?

Are we going to see a Mahrez equivalent to the 15/16 edition again?

My hope is that he takes it on the chin and that he tackles the next few months with us as a positive challenge to go for some domestic glory.

Next week's game against Chelsea should be very revealing...

personally think he will step it up if he wants to go in january , nobody is going to want him if he slouches about not trying ,but if he gets back to his best for the next 5 months the offers will be flooding in

Totally agree...I think we're 'win win' here...He simply has to get his game together if he wants his 'dream' move ! Possibly we could see some real Mahrez magic from now 'til Christmas !

and if he does teams will yet again double up on him leaving vardy and nachoman to run riot

Its up to Shakey and the rest of the City to get Mahrez in the right mindset.

Its going to be a test for them, he is bound to be in a bad head space given all that has happened. Hopefully he is a Leicester player for another 5 months at least and we can see some more of the genius in our shirt.

I wont be surprised if he doesnt start next week, but i hope he will come on and tear the place up.

This season is the crucible for him.  His career is in the balance.

The difference he can make for the club’s season, while significant, is nothing compared to what it means for him.  The club are plugging in talent (and possibly formation/tactics?) which may enable him to play his game.  If he is mentally ready to do so.

As fragile as he seems, whatever it took to get from Sarcelles to here, is still inside him.

I believe he is the type who can do it, but not without support from his teammates and club.

I am intensely hoping for a win/win.

So, IF....he stays with us for the season, and it's due to his goals and assists we qualify for the europa league, and he's been professional throughout this whole saga and been true to his current contract, would you still have this opinion and not celebrate his contribution? Out of spite? Seems to me like you've tried to come across as 'just being honest' on here here for years, but to me it just seems like you're going against the grain on purpose to get a bite.

The point I'm clearly making is that we are a 'win at all costs' society. There seems to be no morals, and double standards and hypocrisy everywhere. All that people are bothered about is that Mahrez plays well so we win football matches. They aren't bothered that he doesn't even want to be here, has publically stated it and, despite his best efforts STILL can't leave.

I'm not surprised that so many want to conveniently overlook this. It's 2017 and this is FT. But for me it leaves a bitter taste. Either I'm just being more honest than most? Or most genuinely don't give shite?

To answer your question directly, I'd not be bothered now if Mahrez was left to rot in the reserves. I'd rather have players at the club who want to play for the club.

I wonder what the likes of Big Steve Walsh will be making of these shananigans...

If Mahrez still has ambitions to leave at the next window, then it seems obvious to me that he'll buckle down and do his best. Why wouldn't he! He would want to avoid a repetition of this window.  If he'd have carried on last season where the title season  left off, the big boys would have been queuing up for his services.

For?

bringing a contingent of "supporters" onto FT that don't actually support Leicester City at all......

I actually feel sorry for him now.  But he's still here and must be as professional as he can. I'm sure the rest of the team will help him and get him back on track.  I'm going to be very interested to see how Shakey handles  this ..   strong management is required ...   big season for our Craig.

That's why I wanted him gone as soon as he said he wanted to go.

He took the piss last season, and both managers pandered to him.

We are where are though, if he's picked on merit, that's fine, but there has to be a lot more end product in terms of goals and assists.

If he can't do that in the next few games, he should be dropped;as he should have been last season.

I struggle to have any time for non triers anyway,so the last few days shenanigans have not come as a surprise or made much difference to my opinion.

He has just made himself look a bit of a bellend.

Skybet have paid on out Mahrez staying bets, big thanks to the person who posted they got it at 13-1, managed to get it at 9-1 and just paid for xmas

Don't get all this Mahrez bashing, what is it that he had done that is so bad?

Facts

  • He wants a move to a big club
  • He put himself in a position for that to happen if it was to materialise on TDD
  • His performances have been very good this season

Every extra day we have Mahrez is a blessing. I certainly won't be taking him for granted.

A quick look on Twitter there is a a few they have been paid out and others haven't. Give it an hour and see it it's landed, if not Tweet um and they get it sorted pretty sharpish.

He's played three league games this season; good in two, a disgrace at Arsenal.

Lets hope the latter was a blip.
