Mahrez to .......................?

On a sidenote, the constant bickering between Algerians and Roma fans continues to amuse me greatly.

Dear Roma supporters: No matter how you spin it and no matter how often you're trying to belittle LCFC in this stance, if Mahrez doesn't want to play for us even though he's still under contract, then we'll simply bench him and let him rot in the reserves until our evaluation is met.

I salute the club for standing firm in this affair. One player cannot dictate the immediate future or strategy of an entire club, no club should be held ransom by an individual and his entourage.

The onus is now on Mahrez to fulfill his part of the bargain and play for the shirt and give it his best shot. No point in sulking or pestering.

It's a sad fact of today's pro football that more and more players are deciding to throw their toys out of the pram when they want to force a move whilst still being contracted at their current club. All under the guidance of misguided "advisors", such as agents and family members and all in the name of money.

Dembélé at Dortmund another prime example, Neymar's situation was somewhat similar.

if he does that  Leicester will ask for 100m and it will be the same problem

Not if another (Premier League) club comes in by then and finally pays what we're asking.

He didn't. No point in bringing the "rot on the bench" threat. First because he ain't this kind of guy and second because he's been from the very beginning very clear and simple: he wants out but if it doesn't happen, he'll still still play for us. Behaved quite professionally since then, to the contrary of say.. Sigurdsson, whom some here were hell bent on signing (and who never wanted to come anyway).

a club is forever, while players have only a few years in their careers to achieve their dreams, next year Mahrez will be 27 and no one will want him.

I wasn't particularly referring to Mahrez with that statement. It was more a general examination of the current trend amongst pro footballers. Anthony Modeste being another sad example.

Mahrez has indeed behaved more professionally in recent weeks, yet that shouldn't detract from the fact that he and his agent acted quite petulantly by going public and trying to put the player on the market individually, without the club's consent.

I'd say it's his agent who#s messing his head. The guy doesn't strike me as one who would force his move. I was convinced that Mahrez won't go this summer before the transfer window opened and still am. His performances last season won't allow it. Roma won't pay 50M and Arsenal don't need him. I don't think anyone will come. Not Liverpool without Countinho, not even a desperate Barca. He has to forget about moving and up his performances.

:D Yeah right, straight to the senior home.

If he's crap, maybe. If he find his 2015/16 level again, I'm pretty sure some pretty good clubs will knock at his door. You must have the means to achieve your dreams. Until now he didn't show that he's worth play for, say, Barca.

Yup, just past Crispy Crème. Someone is on a wind up.

The best bit is the guy trying to convince everyone he’s leaving because he’s exchanging money.... because apparently you can’t change money back to pounds lol

he was in the Maldives in june.  I guarantee that he would not be changing sterling to euros or vice versa. he has plenty of both, I'm sure !

It doesn't matter a jot what we bought other players for. I'm sure you agree the 30 m for Slimani deal is looking like we had our pants pulled down? Yes?

And the Neymar transfer has blown any notion of sensibleness and financial expediency out of the water.

I'm fundamentally of the view that it doesn't usually work out well if a club keeps an unhappy player. The market is dictating that we are having no bids near to what the club value him at. That looks to be around 50m.

So, one last time, there needs to be a compromise to some extent, in terms of fee. The club COULD hold out for nearer 50 m and this COULD end up in a formal bid. But it might not too.

If it doesn't, we are left with a sometimes great player but one who doesn't want to be here...and no transfer fee whatsoever.

Fine margins.

I think they'd take low 40's just havnt had the offer.

Mahrez still gave his Home in Paris so always needs euros

but may be roma is always pursuing him as CS didn't kill the rumors about Leicester rejecting the last bid

some reports in Spain are telling that Atketico Madrid will bid 40-45 m to mahrez and leaving at Leicester till January when the transfer ban will be lifted
