Pre-match pubs at home this season

I always travel down on the train and then head into the local hero on the way to the ground. Nothing wrong with it but I'd be open to changing that habit this year if anyone has any suggestions so this could be a good thread for me to keep an eye on.

Tbf counting house is the only one with an atmosphere before the game, unless you fancy the market tavern:vardy:

Isn't the counting house full of away fans?

That's what puts me off, every time I walk past on the way to the local hero it is nearly always rammed with away fans. Not necessarily a problem but I'd rather not take the risk.

With The Font and Swan and Rushes now closed and Robert Peel becoming rubbish, where on the way to the ground are people drinking this season?

What's with the Swan & Rushes ???

Was a really good pub.

Broood @ Vin Quatre bottom of New Walk. Every type of beer going, cheap and cared for decent food also.

Independently owned and ran, LCFC fans

The Western, Old Horse (bit of a trek) or pub on the same road as the Rutland & Derby (also good) that I can't remember - it does craft beer... ?

Looks like we'll give The Western a go, as we had planned to one day. Haven't been into the Rutland and Derby for a while. The other one on the same road is either the Blue Boar or Criterion I gues.

Rainbow and dove. Lovely bunch of fellas and on hot days you're allowed and even encouraged to take your top off

Then the Dover Castle after?

Football and Rugby trade was all that was keeping it going, same as the Font. Closed briefly towards the end of last season, there was almost a deal between them and the Font but it fell through and it's closed indefinitely now I believe.

me and my dad often go to The Huntsman on Narborough Road because it's near to where we park. They've done it up since start of last season so a bit more modern. Prices aren't too bad either.
