Interesting while looking up for info on his injury.

just as his positive 'tackles stats' are overstated by the level of opposition we have faced coupled with playing every game in a two, so will the negative stats. lets see the numbers in December.

Harry Kane accounts for 19 of them the slobbering goober.

Def interesting, though I wonder how much that has to do with being outnumbered in the midfield. If he is simultaneously trying to keep a player in front of him, while also cutting off a potential passing angle behind him, it is ok if he gets dribbled past so long as he prevents the pass to the dangerous area and the dribbler is handed off to the teeth of the backline. When you are outnumbered as a defender, your job is very much about making quality decisions and minimizing risk. The lad isn't shy about tackling, we all know that, and he looked much more consistent and quality with DD beside him. He needs that veteran presence to count on, and until we get Silva, he will need to lean on Iborra.

Christ Matty James needs to get fit in a hurry. That's a respectable MF 3, would very much like to see a 3-5-2 with Iborra playing as a deep-lying playmaker, Gray and Albrighton on the wings at first, we'd have just as many defenders as our 4-4-2, but better-balanced. Frankly, I'd like to see that formation now, as I like the idea of King with Iborra, I actually think they'd make for a decent MF in terms of possession so long as we have Maguire and Dragovic or Maguire and Fuchs as CBs. King is more an AM anyhow, he tends to pass backwards too much, but Iborra will give him the confidence to be more lateral and forward-looking with his balls.

Desperate desperate times when you have to wax lyrical about the likes of Matty James and Andy King!!...

Take the rose tinted specs off and realise that both are NOT good enough. I know they're all we have though!!!... And that is quite unbelievable and infuriating.

Feel sorry for Ndidi, playing in a two with either James or King is making the guy look poor as he's having to do too much work.

Until we have Silva available it's just a matter of muddling through and hoping for the best...

Thanks for that Rudders!!!

I think the "dribbled by" stat will feature most of our players as Shakespeare seems to be training them to stand off or not challenge.

We have to survive until January without any more injuries or suspensions to our midfield. There will be a tackle-ban in full affect. Our midfield will be asked merely to stand temporarily in the way of the opposition in order to slow them down. We won't be getting involved with risky challenges.

He also has the most tackles.

Just goes to show the extent that the midfield battle is all one way traffic.

This proves exactly what most of us are saying (as if we need to be told); he’s got both the most tackles and the most dribbled by ffs.

I don’t know whether he is injured, but he is a decent ball winner.

How much more evidence can be stacked up to show Shakespeare’s continued use of a central two is simply no good. It doesn’t matter which two we use; no combination has worked.

Get more people in there to relieve the pressure the two are under; we will have more of the ball and the defense will be under less pressure.

By definition (because now we don’t have the ball) we will have more opportunities to pass the ball to our attacking players.

Every which way you look at the situation, any sane person has to come to the conclusion that Shakey has to start helping the players by changing tactics.

Indeed, it's getting harder to back him each time he persists with exactly the same playing style and tactics.

Just saw a tweet musing that wilf could be out for a month ...........

From LCFC91

IF iF this is true. Shakey will be gone by xmas.. not his own fault but because we will carry on failing to get results because of the shambles in recruiting adequate midfielders in the summer.

Well it would mean he will HAVE to go three in the middle to cover for the lack of cover. Iborra, king, amartey - scary !!!

Probably. And the scary thing is we can't even get 2 decent players on the pitch in the middle at the moment never mind 3.

what a combo to have in midfield Christ its easily the best standout midfield two in the premier league opposition will be crapping themselves at the thought of facing them.
