Hope he has some serious pashun.

Time to stop your crying and support the manager as he has signed.  Give the man a chance. You can moan in a few games lol.

Slightly underwhelmed with this appointment. My opinion isn't a reflection of Claude Puel in anyway as in fairness I don't know enough about him, however I do think it's quite apparent that there are some strong cliques which have formed in the dressing room and a very strong character was/is needed to address this issue.

From what I saw of him at Southampton I'm not convinced that he's the type who will stamp his authority on the dressing room, instill discipline, and command respect. Subsequently, I think he'll end up at the mercy of the players and I won't be too surprised if he experiences the same fate as the previous two managers.

I genuinely hope I'm proved wrong and will give him my full support throughout regardless.

Not happy but i'll give him a chance.

Uninspired, underwhelmed.

But tbf to him it doesn't matter who took over, while Rudkin is there they're destined to fail.

This is a worry for me too. I feel like we're fundamentally handicapped with this clown here.

I remember bouncing off the walls when we hired the up and coming Mcghee or the established Taylor/ Bassett or the big name Sven.

And bemused when we re signed Pearson and plucked out Ranieri.

If you're underwhelmed, that's a good thing here; everyone has a point to prove.

Not saying Pellegrini and Anchelotti were options but there were press stories about them coming, which was exciting.

I also thought that my post was far more measured than a lot on here. I am underwhelmed - are you seriously excited?? Doesn't mean I won't get behind the bloke.

Im keen to see us coached by a manager and assistant manager who believe in passing and moving. I'm fed up of watching inferior players and teams making us look agricultural at best. We have capable players if they believe in their ability.

If he is able to change how we play, and be successful at it, he'll have done an amazing job.

If his style of play is possession based with players who are comfortable on the ball, he's got a real job on his hands at Leicester.

It's difficult to imagine a worse 'fit' to be honest, given the players we have at the club. Apart from Iborra perhaps who does look comfy on the ball.

We'll see.

Well you and me are a bit different, I was open-minded about Pearson and Ranieri.

I knew Shakespeare would fail and I was right. This is very much a similar feeling.

I really hope he proves me wrong and we play some fast paced football but if we don't he's not going to get much slack from me. I don't expect any trophies or top 7 finishes and I accept the squad needs a lot of work but the intentions on the pitch must be positive.

You can't base your option of him on one season at Southampton. Before he was known for high energy, pressing football. Likes a cheeky 3-5-2 as well.

Edit: Likes bringing through youth players:schmike:

Quite big on rotation apparently, which would make a change for us.

Quite like boss's who favour the rotation route, they seem to have a better insight on each individual player's talents.

I've gotten to the point where I don't really care about what manager we appoint any longer, as long as we start playing good football again.

Our owners, the board of directors and Mr. Rudkin also need to stop hiring and firing the management, it's detrimental to long-term success and stabilty!

The recent managerial merry-go-round (giving Shakespeare a longer contract, then letting him go after four months in charge) hasn't boded well so far and makes us look desperate and amateur-ish.

Need to do better there.

Puel has won stuff in France, comes with a decent winning percentage and did fairly well at Southampton.

For the ones slating him already - always remember Ranieri.

I do hope it's also an incentive for our longer-serving players and the ones who won us the league to start putting in more decent performances on the whole, I'm a bit sick of lacklustre performances.

We may also need to be patient until Adrien Silva gets to play or even another midfielder joins in January.

Until then, get behind the new man in charge and let's start moving up the table. Here's to an upturn in results!

Sois bienvenu à Leicester, Claude!

Puel it is. Underwhelming. He won't be able to manage the strong characters in our dressing room. Southampton got rid because he fell out with the players and played defensive tactics. I predict a players' revolt and him being sacked before the end of January.

It is clear why they appointed him - he reminds them of Ranieri and will be a Rudkin yes man. Farcical that our owners are so clueless about our success that they try to hire a guy with a similar personality to Ranieri. Just get the monks back to bless the squad and we will be fine!!

i wasnt happy when first linked with him because i just thought of him as boring/defensive minded, but he left Southampton 8th and in League cup final , id take that!!!. wE HAVE BEEN PLAYING "HOOF BALL" for months is that not boring?. He may have adapted his tactics to suit Southamtons squad ie only shane long  as thier decent striker. They managed to put 3 past us in January! We may now shift from the traditional 442 and become a more solid and passing team, lets give the man a chance

What an odd reaction.

Is it only ok to be massively in favour of the club's decisions?

I'm not happy, I don't think he'll be a good manager for us. I don't think I'll enjoy watching us play football. Much like I didn't enjoy watching us under Shakespeare, some games I wish I hadn't bothered. I gained nothing from the experience. I loved Shakespeare as a number 2 and liked him as a bloke but despised him as a manager.

If he proves me wrong and we're good to watch, then great. I have realisitic and fair expectations, if he can't match them then I'll be well within my rights to criticise him. I don't expect trophies, I don't expect the top 7. I expect us making to make the most of what we've got by using the correct tactics and I expect us to try to be worth something by being entertaining. If a team doesn't win things and doesn't entertain anyone then what is it's purpose? I'd say that's a worthless team.

I think that's reasonable.

People lke Lineker quick to see the appointment as dull, who would be his choice?. i remember him slating Ranieri lets hope he does as welll

Saints fan here . . .

...and played some great football in doing so

I question whether you actually watched any matches while he was in charge at Soton. I think you'll find the prevailing national opinion is that he was a ditchwater dull, negative tactician who delivered fewer goals, points and fun than his predecessor.

But your words will bring comfort to those here who like to live in denial or are cranial trauma victims - so thank you for that small mercy.

At least, many of you will be relieved Dyche will not be your new manager.:)

With Bilic earning brownie points, Unsworth aiming to impress, we might only have to ward off  Stoke and West Brom now.
