The owners have clearly gone for someone they believe will deliver us mid table finishes for a couple of years. (Stability)  Problem is some of our better players may get frustrated and go

Clearly:..

you believe, we are an automatically Written in top 6 side, if we had chosen anybody else than Puel...? !!

Upto 3 yrs ago, we shown disdain on this forum, towards other clubs forums, and fans writing how

Pathetic it was, for them to automatically believe that their own club,(Whoever) had a 'right'+ to higher expectations,

the destiny was theirs, they are a big club simply because...because they are!!.

and their downright arrogance in believing they are something extra special...Etc etc etc..

It seems that virus has taken hold, within this once crazy , weird but honest, humble forum.....

Not really sure what to make of it.

His record is hit and miss.

Won the league with Monaco so one better than Claudio at least. The flip side is that his time at Lyon seems to mark the decline from their golden age.

Southampton and the lack of goals is a worry but they were a bit depleted from previous years. I was as Villa-Southampton the day before our 4-0 win over Swansea in april 2016. Southampton were a joy to watch although up against a laughable Villa side.Had Shane Long in the best form of his career that he hasn't repeated since and lost Pelle that summer.

In contrast our attack is still prolific regardless who's there outside of Ulloa. If anything Puel's emphasis on defence might be a change we badly need with our aging stalwarts.

I tend to side with the doubters on this though and fear another Levein or Megson type thats out of touch.

Hope I'm wrong.

Remember all the bitching and moaning about Ranieri when he was announced? Now everyone wants him to be their third Grandad... give Puel a chance ffs.

And has anyone noticed where NANTES are in the league?

"Word of the day"

UNDERWHELMED....

My 3  words  ... embarrassed....Arrogance....Pathetic...

That some posters ,thankfully not all ,creed it necessary, that we greet our new manager, with such a welcome.!!!

What was Koeman's record at Everton, with a better squad?  Stats cannot be taken without context.  Did Southampton not lose some very good players between these to sets of stats? Including Mane who would be the best player for most teams outside the top 6?  Not saying he will do well but if you want to "throw shade" at least back it up with more relevant info.  I genuinely feel sorry for anyone joining our club.  What happened to giving people a chance?

I'm absolutely amazed by how people are already dead set against him and have written him off before he even managed a game. Most of them knowing shit about him or his career other than the hearsay about his spell in Soton. You read some and you'd think we won the league every year since 1992, our squad is composed only of Hazards, Sanés, Kantés, and it's a heresy that we didn't get Ancelotti or Pellegrini.

Can't wait for the match- and post match-threads.

Cannot believe people are calling this a bad appointment.

Are you actually judging him based on one season with Southampton? A season where they had the Europa League, and still finished 8th and got to a cup final.

I think this will be a good signing for our club, and I am 100% behind him until proven wrong.

I'm ambivalent, which sums up how I feel about lcfc and the manager situation. When we had Nige in I was desperate for us to do well, because it felt like we were in it together and I wanted the success as a fan and for him personally.

Claudio bought us great success, and was a lovely bloke so I afforded him more patience last year when many called for him to go.

Shakey has seen 10 years of success afforded the club,so wanted him to carry on his legacy.

But Puel I'm just not fussed about,if he does well great,if he doesn't then I won't be too fussed. Oddly as it sounds winning the title has made me less interested in us winning than before.

I got a feeling some people on this forum are gonna feel quite stupid come end of the season.

Both Dyche and Puel would´ve been good choices, think the owners did well in their decision.

The media have seriously got a problem with Leicester. Not even saying it in a "oooo sympathise with us" way, I genuinely think a lot of them have something against us. Whether it's because we put the English game's noses out of joint I've no idea.

Just doesn't seem like a good fit.

We are at our best when we go for it, hence why we've only started playing on several occasions this year when we've gone behind and had to chase the game.

Football with the hand brake on.  Not for me.

High quality hire. We can expect him to be more aggressive his second time in the Prem. He has much better attacking talent than at Southampton, where I believe they ranked 20th in net spend the summer before his season, and they lost a number of quality players to boot from Koeman's side. He has won most everywhere he's been, and the Southampton fans who hated him didn't see the finished product, they only saw the scaffolding of his 3-year plan, so... he has never had the resources he will have here, he will have a superior team, talent-wise to what he had at Southampton, overall, I think he is well-positioned to be successful.

And if we're going diamond 4-4-2, with a possession-dominant mandate and marauding FBs who bring the ball out, I really would like to see:

-------------Vardy--Nacho w/Slim substitute after 60 min or vice versa

------------------Gray

----------Iborra---------Mahrez

-------------------Ndidi

Chilwell-Dragovic-Morgan-Maguire(?)

Gray, Mahrez, and Iborra would suddenly make us look classy in possession, especially when Maguire takes the ball out when we build from the back, and Ndidi's lesser touch won't be much of a problem. I don't think the CBs will be very involved in going fwd, so I would be loathe to waste Maguire there if his other skills would not be on display, though many people obv think this daft, that he is a CB. In which case, we can get by with Albrighton for a bit, but we really need to upgrade our RWB.

If he lasts until the end of the season I will be amazed. At a very big push if we have a bad start to next season he will be gone then but for him to last that long will be a miracle

hope i am proved wrong

sorry but i cant see that side winning games. would not have chillwell any where near the 1st team nor gray. and hears why chillwell defence is very poor and he fails the simple pass test, so many times he fails to do the simple things, ne needs a lot of work. as for gray he looks and plays like a bloke with chip on his shoulder, he has the pace and the skill but he always take the poor option in attack and he defends poorly. not sure if this side would be better but here goes. and i know we cant use silva yet but when we can.

                               vardy   nacho

                                    mahrez ( roving role )

           silva           iborra        ndidi

fuchs         dragovic     morgan       maguire ( think he would be great going forward. )i

Well, im much happier with Puel than most of the other "realistic" names we were associated with.

Fingers crossed he does well.

Feel the same, but just maybe he can do what CR and CS couldn't - teach the team to play another way. This could be a good appointment yet
