Gazza M Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 I hope Claude is allowed to and also doesn't fall in to the trap of sentiment to 15/16 players. Clean slate for all and pick people on merit. I hope he brings in one or two of his own men and doesn't get overpowered by Stowell and co. If we are still hoofing and hoping in the new year, we know that the players will be still in control again.....
EnderbyFox Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 Bloody hell some of the pessimists on here I'm guessing the people moaning about his apparent "dull" football at Southampton would be buzzing if we signed Dyche instead
Guest seanfox778 Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 Looking forward to seeing what he has in store for us. 3 points against the Toffees would be a marvellous start.

Sunbury Fox Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 I just wish we'd not been tempted with talk of Pellegrini and Ancelotti. Only makes this appointment even more underwhelming, if that is possible.

How ****ing awful have we been since we stopped? Talk about sapping the excitement out of a match. We won 5 league games in a row under Shakes but it got progressively worse. My point is that we have not been the team that won the title since we actually won it. You can't go a season a half of mostly dross football and then say we're something we haven't been for nearly 18 months.
AyewJoking Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 fúck off! we're allowed to be disappointed by a managerial appointment jesus christ indeed
Izzy Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 He's got unfinished business in the PL and a big point to prove. Could bring out the very best in him. Got a feeling he might surprise a few of us actually...
NewEnglandFox Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 We still have 12 points from 4 out of Appleton. Shocking appointment.
adam Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 Strange decision. I wonder if anyone else was interviewed.
FrankieADZ Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 very underwhelmed by Puel, hopefully he'll prove us wrong, and hopefully we'll see more than 14 goals at home compared to what Southampton did last season ill back him though like i do with every manager until it goes rubbish
Chico1958 Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 Like I said yesterday.............. He gets my full support until we start losing
StFox Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 Good luck with him lads, genuinely. He brought us the most off the scale tedious football it is possible to conceive, particularly at home BUT you do have a far better roster of attackers for him to work with so see how it goes.

Neither of which were options i mean why the hell haven’t we dragged SAF out of retirement?? no one knows how this will play out so why do so many have such a strong opinion ??
21st Century Fox Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 Knows the league, no doubt learned a lot that season. Tactically adept, has played some nice attacking football in the past in France. We've got players like Iborra starting to show what they're capable of. The futures looking rosier!
sphericalfox Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 Given the quality of players that were shipped out in the summer he arrived for various reasons. I am amazed he managed to get Southampton to 8th place. Without Mane they weren't going to score loads of goals. I think personally he could get more out the team and think we'll be fine. Let Everton now worry about results, and West Ham eventually and inevitably skip their manager. We'll be shifting our way from the zone of the rellygation.
lifted*fox Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 let's see how he gets on. he's got my full backing until it looks like he's going to be shit - then I'll resume normal levels of disdain / moaning. welcome Claude - good luck, you're gonna need it.
shiv Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 The state of some of the reactions on here People are judging him because he was “sacked” but in reality he wasn’t a good fit with Southampton. At the end of the day, he’s got European pedigree and a season’s experience in the PL. I think we need stability right now, so this is a decent appointment in my opinion.
FLAN Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 If he drops people who look ridiculously uncomfortable with the ball he’s the man. Otherwise wtf!
biggs Posted 25 October 2017 Posted 25 October 2017 He's here and we should get behind him....he's here for at least a little while. Maybe he will impress more than some think. I'm sick of the rut we're in....sometimes a change in dynamic will achieve what is unexpected.......no crystal balls....give him our support at least to start
