Puel is a good fit.

CP has had a decent enough record wherever he has been.

Won the league in his first season at Monaco, went to Lille where he signed and set Eden Hazard alive prompting his move to Chelsea.

Went to Lyon when they were on the decline and their funding was slashed, didn't win anything but you can't have a perfect record everywhere.

Went to nice where the club were constantly trying to stave off relegation and took them to the top 4.

Went to Southampton, finished 8th with a cup final.

Yes he finished with 17 pts less than Koeman but let's analyse that before just regurgitating throwaway comments.

The club sold Mane, sold Wanyama, sold Pelle, they then sold the Captain fonte in January, by February they lost Virgil Van Dijk to injury and their main defender was Maya Yoshida....

He's played attacking football wherever he has been apart from Southampton where their best players had been sold and was forced to play to the strengths of the team.

If he can do to Mahrez what he did to Hazard and Ben arfa, we could be in for a treat, christ he even improved balotelli.

I said from the start of Ranieri' reign that he will do well (never expected what came next) But I fully support this decision, I had my moments of doubt in the moment, but having spent the last few days looking at his career and analysing where he's been and what he did at each club, I'm more than happy to state that he will take us into the top half and build the club for the future..

Given time he could take us to the top 6 fight for European football.

It's time we dropped the 4-4-2 and started to adopt genuine tactics, Ranieri tried a bit more in his 2nd season and failed, but with the acquisition of Maguire, Dragovic, Iborra, I feel we have more ability on the ball and can actually hold up play, or pass the ball fluently.

We now have the opportunity to play different formations and become a team with a plan B.

I welcome CP as the Man to do it.

Good post. You make it sound all O so simple. I hope you're right.

He’s got a good CV there’s no denying that. I find the fact that he looks a bit like Bilbo Baggins a little off-putting, but apart from that I don’t have a problem with him.

I Just don’t understand the desire to abandon the system that we’ve played for the past few years though. We're not playing fake tactics!

There’s no reason why we couldn’t evolve the current starting 11 to get a better ball-playing side, but still playing 4411 or 451.

The bottom line is we have replaced a manager cs (who wasnt a manager - hes an assistant) with an experienced manager. He is a better option than continuing with cs. My only question would be were we interested in puel in the summer if so why didn't they appoint him then.

Must admit I prefeMBrred Dyche and was a little.. uinimpressed he signed, but I'm willing to give him a chance and do hope it works out a good move for him. His style at Southampton may not be consistent with his managerial career so I'm just going to go into Everton with no expectations.

"Willing to give him a chance".....

Now go to the bosses and tell them, all is ok, CP  can stay.

because you such a kind hearted soul.

To all the negative posters....I just hope that your peers, and associates, blindly judge your Lifes efforts from past and into the future , with the same arrogance , backstreet egoism, as

you all seem to be wanting to spread around.

Its been a pathetic and black 2 days, on this forum, on every single thread and Post

Relevant to C.Puel being given the trust of the job to rejuvinate, rebuild the team and club.

It seems that some "Heavies" on this forum deem their negative posturering  are wise

Funny, clever antics, and cant wait to build up a bandwagon that we should all jump on,

Myself...Every new beginner, needs encouragement , patience....and while we are fans...

"Support"

We are lousy hosts, and should be ashamed how

we have welcomed a new guest into our home...

Don't know but it's an interesting question.

@Ric Flair will know.

I read it's just a season long loan, any option to buy I hope is not already agreed. He was Puel's captain, he'll want him back.

A good fit, really?

A dullard like Puel is the worst fit for Leicester, this team needs a manager with balls, who shows passion, who has that bit of aggression, Puel comes across completely the opposite of that.

His style of play is completely opposite of what we're known for, he played a diamond at Southampton, play that here then you'll take all the pace out of the team, we played similar last season against Middlesbrough and Southampton away and we sucked.

Speaks very broken English and needs a translator which doesn't help matters either. Lasts a season at Southampton, Mazzarri who also had broken English lasted only a season with Watford, it's a recipe for disaster.

Prove me wrong Claude, I'm begging you.

Did he? My bad If so. Atleast we know his judgement was on point not to sign him ?

I’d take Balotelli.  He’s saved Nice’s bacon and he has his form back.  I wish we had him here.  A little competition for our strikers would do us some good.

I’d like to know who on our team has scored as much!

I've warmed to this appointment recently, feel Puel could do good things with us.

Just to assure those concerned about his English language, he acknowledges it himself.

'He's started off talking about his time at Southampton, and (through the translator) he tells the media: "I managed to improve my English a little bit, but it still needs perfecting."'

I'm keen on Puel and here's why

It's so damn easy to hire the flavour of the month because they're currently doing well and being publicly lauded for it (ie Dyche).  The fact they're riding on a crest of success may blind football recruiters to these candidates weaknesses, or if they're a poor fit for the club. The recruiters also know the fans will be straight on board with hiring the flavour of the month.

It's much harder to appoint a manager who 'failed' in his last job, especially in the case of Puel where the team he 'failed' with is in our same league. Regardless of his CV, there is a bias against him straight away from the fans and probably the recruiter himself, the candidate has to essientially justify why they failed and win over the prejudices. This shows to me that our recruiters (rudkin and co I guess) were so convinced by what he had to offer that they overrode their initial concerns, despite knowing there'll probably be a bit of a backlash from the fans.

Much preferring this appointment to a Dyche, Wilder etc for that very reason.

Pochettino couldn't speak the Kings at Southampton. Still struggles now.

If there is one thing our team needs, it ain't another striker bud

Note the end of Laurie Whitwell’s latest article says ‘he faces a challenge to win round the dressing room’.  Wonder if this is based on anything the journo has heard from inside the camp .......

I have a great respect for him. He could have an easier job and staying in France where he'd surely have no problem to manage a club. Instead of he came back to the PL, one of the toughest and the most exposed in the world, despite being unceremoniously sacked after just one season and having a "bad" reputation.

This guy has a point to prove and most importantly: ambition. His reputation of having a firm grasp on the players, taking care of the youngsters and getting the best out the most creative ones can only benefit us. He's tactically not dumb either. If it goes well, it could be another master stroke from the owners.

That's why I don't give a flying fvck about how boring he can be in conferences. We'll find out the truth on the pitch.

What we really must avoid is any negativity if we get a bad result on Sunday.

I think we'll give him a good chance.... at least for the first 15 minutes

I'd amazed if the match thread isn't already toxic.
