Cant really get my head around this, as I think hes a really good midfielder.

He will start against Boro Id imagine with Silva, but he was so poor against Fleetwood its hard to justify his inclusion yesterday.

He will come good for us ive no doubt.

He looked shaky at the start no doubt, but some of his performances have been class. Spurs at home he was the best midfielder on the park, Stoke away he was bossing it before he got injured....inconsistent but such a good player to have as a squad player. We've gone from having King as first backup to Iborra, thats progress.

Overreaction, he's a good player and always will be. Probably most likely to see him in a midfield three now however if everyone keeps fit.

Thank you! Ndidi is undroppable and Puel does not want to discourage James who has been playing well anf is good for a possession heavy style. Silva needs game time. Iborra has not been dropped for anything he's done wrong, he's just a victim of circumstance right now but he'll be rotated back in.

Ndidi is our heartbeat. James can't be justifiably dropped (we keep winning, he said playing well and seems to do more organising than anyone else (currently fit) in the squad), Silva is probably our best on paper. I think IBorra is just 4th choice. Still expect him to play loads. King on the other hand might be bestie looking elsewhere.

It says something that he can't get in the  match day squad as I think he's looked quality. Competition is indeed strong in our engine room these days.

It really is and the late transfer of Drinkwater, although shambolic regarding Silva, has with hindsight been worth it, and very good business.

But he can though. When it comes to vision, composure on the ball and passing forward, Iborra is definitely better.

I thought our performances picked up when he came in to the squad. That being said you can never underestimate Matty James's ability. Drinky couldn't dislodge him and the fact he is now keeping Iborra out speaks volumes.

It was in the print edition - I couldn't find it in the online edition.

Perhaps they thought that his mere prescence at the ground was enough to intimidate Watford :D

Is it just me that thinks he looks absolutely class whenever he plays?  For me I would have him as a starter most games, he just oozes calm and seems to find space so easily.  The question then is who do we drop?  I am not even sure Puel rates Iborra as he does not seem to have played quite as much since he came in.  I think we should give the Iborra/Ndidi/Silva midfield a chance in the league? Or am I a swizzbnanger?

Leicester player surprised at lack of closeness with teammates, don’t do much together

By Lucas Sposito -

23rd February 2018

Before Sevilla played Manchester United in the Champions League this week, Leicester City midfielder Vicente Iborra was invited by Estádio Deportivo to talk about his former club.

Besides claiming he’d be firmly supporting the Spanish side, the 30-year-old also responded to some personal questions about his life at the Foxes and the adaptation to English football.

Now as Sevilla prepare for the second leg, Iborra was once again interviewed by a local outlet, this time ABC de Sevilla. The questions weren’t much different, although the player opened up more about the friendships he has or had at the Premier League side.

First on the life in the UK, Iborra said: “We are pretty fine. We live in a very calm area, although we miss Spain a lot. There we made a lot of life with our teammates, we were closer to our friends and here it’s different. The food is good, because what we do not get here we ask for it online (laughs).”

Then he was asked if it was easy to convince his family to leave Sevilla for Leicester: “It is not easy, because what you want is for your family to be comfortable and happy. It’s true that we are fine here, but, from time to time, we miss things that we did with our teammates or with our family when they came to Sevilla.”

Iborra talked about how different friendships are in English clubs, and was also asked about the departure of his friend Leonardo Ulloa: “Here they do not have the philosophy of making more life with their teammates. Many live far away and come to train every day from other cities. It’s something that surprised me, the club allows it and they prefer to live in their cities.

“It’s true that I had and still have a relationship with Leo. It was quite important support for me when I arrived. I like to talk to everyone, but since language is not the easiest, maybe with Adrien Silva, who speaks a little Spanish.”

Quizzed about Jamie Vardy, the midfielder said: “Vardy is a guy who is almost always in a good mood. It’s appreciated to have people with that character because in the day to day it makes everything easier for you and it is always better to be joking than not. ”

Finally, Iborra was asked about his future:” I have always said that going back to Levante is one of my goals. I wish to return to Spain, to live there and because I would like to play in the Spanish league, but I do not know when. I hope the road of Levante and mine will cross again.”

Come on Leicester players, take Iborra out somewhere.

Leicester's Iborra claims Pochettino is revolutionising English football

Sun 18 Feb

Leicester City’s Vicente Iborra is a big fan of Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Leicester City's defensive midfielder Vicente Iborra has told Marca how Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino has shown a different footballing philosophy can work in England.

For many years, the Premier League has gained a reputation from overseas for a physical, direct style of play which often appreciates a thunderous tackle more than a sharp passing exchange.

Gradually, however, the top teams in England are treating possession of the ball with more importance and showing a greater desire to win it back via relentless pressure higher up the pitch.

Spurs boss Pochettino is renowned for adopting an intense style of play, and their success over the past few seasons have prompted Iborra to single him out as a leading factor in revolutionising the English game.

“Football in England is more direct, vertical and less tactical, except for a couple of teams such as Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur who try to play with the ball more,” Iborra told Spanish reporters.

“Tottenham, in Turin, showed a confidence in playing with the ball and at the end came out with a great result. I think they are demonstrating here that another footballing philosophy is possible.”

Tottenham76.7427

Liverpool73.9627

Man City70.5227

Arsenal67.8527

Chelsea61.1127

Man Utd60.4827

Tottenham have without doubt become an elite force both domestically and in Europe under Pochettino, demonstrated by going undefeated and winning a Champions League group containing Real Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.

Despite having yet to win a trophy under Pochettino, many Spurs supporters are delighted with their progress and feel there is a gradual power shift happening in North London.

The next step for Tottenham would be to win a major trophy. On current form they look a good bet for the FA Cup and, after a decent result in Turin, they are favourites to reach the Champions League quarter-finals.

Off of course Spurs are not physical at all, a right namby pamby bunch.

Great performance today, my personal MOTM.

No idea what he did to piss off Puel so much to be left out of the starting 11 (and sometimes the squad) for the last 10 or so games because today showed you what he brings us. Calmness, control and a solid base to work from. I feel he eases the pressure on Ndidi too and it allows the forward players more time to play their stuff.

Good stuff Vicente.

People remember that he'd had a few bad games in succession and was being investigated for match fixing when he got dropped right?
