For the past 6 years, a dog named Capitán has slept on the grave of his owner every night. His owner, Miguel Guzmán died in 2006 and Capitán disappeared shortly after the family attended the funeral services. They searched everywhere and put out flyers to try and find him. But no one had seen him.

A week later, some people who were at the cemetery late one evening spotted Capitán laying on a grave and they contacted the grounds keeper at the cemetery. The cemetery notified the family who promptly came to pick him up and take him home. But each night he would cry and scratch frantically at the door to go out and he wouldn't return home until morning. It was later discovered that Capitán would walk the 3 miles back to the cemetary each night to guard his master's grave.

It has been nearly 7 years now. The cemetery does not close the gates until he arrives each night promptly at 6 pm. He sleeps there all night guarding the grave until the grounds keeper opens the gate in the morning. This is a true picture of Capitan herehttp://instagram.com/p/oAJsgmxban/

Dogs are incredible animals.

A shepherd of mine was a legend. Told us days ahead if we were going to be ill, sensed our every mood, was so intelligent and such a good tracker she even came and told me when it was time for her to die yet the only time she ever needed a vet was for her innoculations as a pup.

Clocked up just on 100 healthy dog years as a pet and was so trusted some of the neighbours wouldn't let their kids out on the local park unless my youngest was taking the dog with him. Incredible guard mind! I mean she'd do exactly what she was asked if necessary.

If he doesn't rip them off, the Jamaican wife will. And I'll probably end up having them in some sort of stew. So, for my sake, please don't.

He didn't rip them off but my screen's covered in a thin layer of ball sweat now so I guess we'll call it a draw.

He is a good looking dog, but if you have that sort of interest, I'd see a doctor.

Here's our little bearded collie. Just turned 1 and such a lovely dog, very clever, friendly, loyal and great with our nieces and nephews

Lovely dog, where was the picture take?

Welcombe Mouth Bay in Devon. Went for a week down to Bude and she absolutely loved pegging about on the beaches :D

She's currently at the vets after having been spayed and some complications during surgery so am very much looking forward to seeing that little bearded face later

German Shepherds seem to have a real problem with my dog, who is the softest little scrote in the world but whenever she goes near an alsatian they go for her. I wondered if this was due to her submissiveness or because german shepherds just tend not to like other dogs? It's always when the german shepherds are on a lead and she goes past them, which I know dogs on leads can behave differently to when they are running free.

Other way round with me ....   when I take my two GS's out other dogs go for them.  I know as a breed they can be a bit tasty but when trained they are as well behaved as any others.

Brings a whole new meaning to 'spicy meatballs'?

I have a very divisive Labrador bitch (Maddie), she's only small but has absolutely bags of energy so other dogs either want to play or growl/run away. There's a german shepherd in Birstall that whines and whines when he sees her coming as he wants to play so much, I'll chat with the owner and our two dogs are pouncing all over each other, playfighting like there's no tomorrow

The only time I've ever seen my dog pinned down was by a large male GS, both walking off lead. Maddie was kicking it in the face with all four legs, didn't understand the concept of not being the top of the pack! This same walking group always had a GS bitch too, Maddie and her would constantly charge off together showing each other where the fun is, like best mates.

I love dogs. Want to get another soon but not sure what breed, I like the idea of a greyhound as they're really friendly and quiet but I'm worried they get worn out easily as they're quite lazy and don't require the same exercise as a lab. Anyone who's had experience of both - would they be compatible? Or would I have to leave the greyhound at home if I'm out for a 2-hour walk?

Don't get any dog that you may have to leave at home.    My two are getting ready to come and watch me guzzle a couple of pints as we speak !    :)
