Grow up and get behind Riyad, or: stop listening to the press and wait and see how he reacts on the pitch

There's not many players over the years you'd actually pay good money to watch. Mahrez is one of them. Yes he may not do the tracking back and tackling, yes he may not do bugger all for 89 minutes. But for that one minute of potentially breathtaking skill it will be worth it. Not only has he added this ability he can provide many assists. Foxestalk is full of people apparently in the know (ITK brigade!) But unless your in the inner sanctum of the club or Mahrez we don't really know what's been said, what was promised, what offers have been refused etc etc....Before you all start ripping up your Mahrez encrusted City tops and ripping his posters off your kids bedroom walls just wait for facts or if he does return to weave some magic. We may not see anyone like him for a long while...don't start belittling what he's done for us.

And yes I know he's being paid very well, but so too are nearly all the Premier league winning team- don't see ALL of them being 8/10 week in week out.

And before we herald Diamanté as the next Messiah, yes he's had a great start but we've seen many a player over the years heralded as the next star for them to be forgotten in a few months....up the city

What don't you understand? If Man city didn't make a deadline day aproach for Mahrez then he would have played happily with us until the summer. I'm not sure what is so hard for you to understand about that. Of course most of the blame lies with Mahrez but this whole circus would never have taken place had city not made a late approach for him.

And i dont know what part you dont understand when you think all Mahrez' pathetic antics are Man City's fault.

I already listed the situation umpteen times. He got wind that Man City fancied him, so he requested a transfer like he does every single time someone half decent shows any kind of interest, he then had to be dropped from the squad for Everton because he was having a pissy fit, and hes still having a pissy fit now.

Olivier Giroud managed to play for Arsenal vs Swansea didnt he? while a deal was being negotiated.

Mahrez could have chosen to be professional about it all but he chose freely to be a dick about the whole saga.

All Man City did was make a bid we didnt feel was acceptable for him.

I hope they make a point of donating his fine to mental health charities so that those who really have reason to be depressed can benefit.

Who are you to decide which people can suffer from Depression?

How pretentious of you.

Read up about Aaron Lennon and Clarke Carlisle. Footballers who in many people eyes are living the dream....they arent

I'm not sure about this whole Mahrez is 'depressed' thing.

As far as I'm aware it was a quote from his friend saying he was "depressed about the situation".

I've no idea if Mahrez suffers from depression or not, but I do wonder if it was just a bad choice of wording and his friend meant he was pissed off/unhappy with the situation.

Either way, It makes me a bit uncomfortable.

I think you’re right. At a guess, his friend probably meant ‘very upset’, rather than clinically depressed. Unless he hangs around with a psychiatrist who’s made a diagnosis? :D

No problem Raj I think we are all saddened by it.

After all it is still our great club and we can't let one player try and ruin it for us.

Anyway onwards and upwards and lets try and win the FA cup for the first time !!!

And of all people, Savage being a reactionary idiot here

Even writes about what a dick he was in this same situation in the past. I remember he himself saying once he was a "disgrace" for what he did to get that move
