Grow up and get behind Riyad, or: stop listening to the press and wait and see how he reacts on the pitch

like i said before, the club could afford to make it easier for him to get his move (for old times sake). only problem is, riyad is asking for a discount and the owners are asking a lot. what i said before, 75 million or him is fair for both sides

I know the market has been crazy. I know he has got team and personal awards. I know when he plays... He is excellent. But he is inconsistent. So for me, £75m is fair and a good mid point between the £90m valuation and the £50m the market wants to play for Mahrdy... Sorry Mahrez.

Not disagreeing that that wouldn't be a fair price but man city didn't offer that. I disagree with the thought he should he allowed to go at a discount because of what he's done here. He owes the club more than we owe him for me. If it wasn't for us who's to say he would have even made it out of ligue 2?

That's not what I was implying. And if you think it's just between him and the board then you haven't been paying much attention to anything Leicester related in the news recently. He has let the board down, he has let Puel down, he has let his team mates down and he has let the fans down. He should be thanking this club for finding him, taking a chance on him, developing him and giving him the opportunity to play at the very top. He should absolutely not be refusing to play and train for us, this club have done more for him than he could ever do for the club. This dream move he is so desperate for has only been made a real possibility because of Leicester City, not Riyad Mahrez. Its an outrage to be honest, he should be ashamed of himself. He doesn't deserve to play for Leicester at the minute.

if he doesn't play just fine him. make sure that he doesn't make a single penny while he is refusing to play.
puel said he will take him back, the players said that when he comes back it will be water under the bridge but the fans are being fans. getting too ma without knowing the whole truth.

imo, he did for the club as much as the club did for him. he wasn't an academy player, the club took a chance on a player for 400K and they will atleast get 150 times that amount for him, without him there would be no league title and no CL football.

the club gave him a platform and he helped the club become bigger. i remember the WBA preseason games when most of the people in the stands were mostly cheering for him and not another player.

and if it wasn't for him, who's to say that we would've won the league or played in the CL. imo both parties benefited equally, the board took a big gamble on him and he turned out to be a great player.

I get your point I really do. But at then end of the day he owes us just as much as we owe him so that shouldn't make a difference in the price.

and that's my point! he wants a discount price of 50 million, the club wants 95 million. just meet up on the middle for 75 million and tell man city "pay up or jog on"

I think the club would accept the 75-80 though. It's just man city wouldn't offer that. It's not our fault

Thats just paper talk, no way will the players be happy with him, would you be? They are his team mates and he left them in the lurch on match day because he wanted to abandon them mid season to go and play for a supposed bigger club who can't fill their stadium. It's an insult to them. And now he hasn't got the balls to show his face. He owes each and every one of those players a personal apology and when he does return he should be made to work his way up from the bottom of the club. And I don't think we should allow him to leave until he's playing out of his skin for the first team and for the price we want, this needs to made abundantly clear to him.

So Garth Crooks, reports in the press that Mahrez is feeling depressed...

GC: "I'm not surprised he's depressed".

What an absolute shambles this bloke is.  He's relishing it.  2.30 on the red button this afternoon, that's if you don't mind throwing something large at the screen in discontent by the end of it.

Would not taking any notice of what Crooks says he is the biggest tool of them all.

He can't remember the names of the players and who plays for which team.

It's a bit like dragging some random bloke off the street who has just drank three cans of special brew.

i have a theory

*puts tinfoil hat on*

seeing that the owners take offense to people crossing them (a la the west ham case) they thought that mahrez handing in a transfer request in the summer is an attempt to drive the price down (even though they promised him a move) so they drove the asking price up to make an example out of him.

they don't want to sell him, they tested the water for the man city's offer to make sure that they will ask for a price that they can't pay, if man city offerd 40, the club would"ve asked for 80 to teach riyad a lesson and tell him to his face "you thought you are gonna get a discount? no no no, we will ask extra for you'

The title of this thread seems ironic now. It would be great to know when (at least aproximately) he intends to show up and "react on the pitch". Some kind of satement from the club/manager would be welcome. Quite a lot of people got behind his back in this thread but all they get so far is a kick to the gonads, metaphorically speaking :/

He’s even worse than Motty when it comes to players names (outside the top 6 that is)!

I don't agree with booing Mahrez the next time (if there is a next time) he pulls on our shirt and walks out the tunnel. He's done too much to get booed imo, but I'd ****ing love it if his name announcement gets met with absolute silence.

Silence would be more damning imo. Total indifference to the man.

I wouldn’t worry anyway, the child will probably get a drugs ban because the club don’t know his whereabouts and therefore can’t inform UKAD.

There was a bit of iffy moderation on the day too that let this view of the OP become the only one that stood!

Sorry, foxy, but if you were a true Leicester fan instead of someone who just followed Mahrez here, you'd get it, and wouldn't be trying to excuse the inexcusable.

He is one of the 15/16 legendary team but he's no longer a legend.

Sorry for the late reply st the game.

Because of how you day the thais are I can't see it. But even so. Man city never came anywhere near the price tag everyone agrees he's worth
