I agree with everything you've said.

My guess is when Roma were bidding in the summer is we told Mahrez and his agent he could leave for £50m. The misunderstanding is that Mahrez and his agent still believe that to be the case in January and his agent was touting him out for that fee.

Hell of a misunderstanding, you'd have thought his agent would have checked with the club first.

Again you and others are making assumptions and you know what that can do.

You have no idea of whether he or the club decided that he didn't attend training.

The irony you are missing is that you are making assumptions too. They just happen to be pro-Mahrez assumptions. At least our assumptions are backed up by facts and by statements from Mahrez agent and friends and by news sources such as sky sports.

I don't understand why you are doggedly arguing with everyone about Mahrez innocence when you fully admit you know nothing.

Exactly. Poor little diddums Mahrez needs to do the same before he irreversibly damages his legacy with our fans and many fans of other clubs who get irritated by this kind of thing.

I think he's already damaged his legacy here, I don't think that really bothers him though, he's only interested in a legacy at somewhere like arsenal, reminds me a bit of Alan Smith who always seems go quiet whenever it's mentioned of his time with us

Show me a direct quote!
He boils your piss, doesn't he! Drop the "holier-than-thou" act and just come out and say it. Your agenda is pothetic! It wasn't kicked by Riyad's latest antics. You had it against him for the longest.

He boils your piss,

Completely off thread here, but I’m learning some fantastic new phrases lately! This and “stop to tell bullshit” are my current favourites!

If the club had given him say 2 weeks to get his head together.  Why not just say so?  Surely that would be preferable to this situation?

Mahrez hasn't done himself any favours

Because at the moment everything between the club and Mahrez is fine and dandy and what we read is just speculation based on the media. As soon as the club put a statement out, then it becomes official. If Mahrez does ever return, a statement can be released saying something like he's been on family business or something, the club still have value in the player then. I'm surprised Marc Albrighton actually came out in the press and said the players won't be angry when he returns.

according to the mirror(always take with a pinch of salt)

Man City are ready to scrap interest in a move for Mahrez.......

.....as Pep isnt impressed with how hes dealt with the move in January not going through.

if they do scrap any interest in him then frankly hes only got himself to blame for the way hes reacted to it all.

Pep's got his excuse now, and can carry on pretending they had serious long term interest in him

Well that’s made it easier for Man City to walk away from this car crash, he’s given them the excuse, but tbh if it’s try, it serves him right.

Because you're jumping to conclusions and lashing out when you have no idea what is actually happening.

I'm not saying he is innocent, he is definitely in the wrong it's just a matter of how much in the wrong. Many on here have already strung him up.

Which elite club will risk paying a massive fee and wages for a guy who clearly has issues when things go against him. Oh Riyad you’ve played a blinder here

I love the fact that he and his agent must’ve expected a flurry of offers from the top clubs and so far all we’ve had is a joke offer from Roma and Man City wanting him on the cheap to cover Sane for a few weeks. Now with his latest emotional episode interest might be even more scarce

Yep, the man keeps doubling down on stupid acts which undermine the clubs bargaining position and make him less attractive to other clubs.

He is losing sympathy from even the reactionary plumbags in the media

I think everyone knows about how good he is on the pitch etc, but maybe man city were testing out the mental strength of the player before coming back in the summer with another offer.

Let's face it footballers in general aren't that bright, then tend to be swayed by a guy who is only interested in getting his cut.

I think his agent hasn't played his hand that badly so far in getting him out of the club in the summer. We've seen it all before player throws a strop becomes massively unpopular, club gets rid. We've reached stage two.

The question is do our owners cut and run and accept a reduced offer for him in the summer  or do they call his bluff and tell him he has two years left on his contract and we expect him to see them out, he can then go wherever he wants as a free agent. He spends two years watching his career fall rapidly off a cliff or he gets his act together and buckles down.

To solve this issue we need an open letter to Riyad Mahrez thread....

Agreed.  People need to stop holding back on creating threads.  They dont cost anything.  Why have one thread about Mahrez when we can have the exact same conversation over 10 or more different threads so that people can have their own thread?  Thread!!  We'll create one thousand Mahrez threads if it'll help!

Thread thread thread!

Not sure if this has been posted in one of the other 7 trillion Mahrez threads yet, but the ultimate irony of this article is just incredible:

https://www.google.co.uk/amp/www.skysports.com/amp/football/news/11712/11241278/riyad-mahrez-must-respect-leicester-says-dennis-wise

Dennis Wise saying Mahrez needs to show Leicester some respect!!

Is he having a laugh, he tried to put Leicester out of business due to pure spite and now the gobby feck gets involved in this matter in this way. The first thing this cockney nasty boy needs to do is apologise to Leicester for his behaviour to us
