Might upset a few people on here, but I don't regard Maguire as being a brilliant defender, in the sense that he does not read the danger a la Huth or Morgan but is often floundering as the strikers race through. He's a bit like John Stones in that he seems able to move forward and pass a ball to a teammate - the modern centre half.

Maguire... defence wise not the best but good on the ball

Dragovic  ...can and will improve with more premier league games

Ndidi...as above

Silva  ...premier league quality

Barnes...deserves a decent chance to prove himself at this level

Slimani ..as above

Amartey ..as above

Albrighton...worth a try as a RB

Okazaki...works his socks off for the team...good influence

Huth ..good back up and influence

Vardy,Morgan,Fuchs ,Simpson,Kasper,...we have seen the best of them and its downhill from now onwards..time to be ruthless and say thanks for the memories but..

Normally I would agree but stoke played in such an aggressive way I can see why puel wanted two physical players on the pitch.

Only on planet FT would I read a post whereby someone wants to keep Slimani and Amartey but is more than happy to offload Vardy and Kasper.

Planet FT....fortunately a world not often bound up in reality.

it’ll be the ones out on loan, Mahrez, Huth.    And Benny.  I don’t think we need that big a clear out.  It destabilises the squad.

I really don't get this. Yes a poor game but it seems reading this every player has to go. Even players not on the pitch have been slated.

 

The only problem yesterday was tactics and poor team selection.

 

I also would like to know why Ibbora Drag and Amarty seem to have been dropped without trace. All three seemed a whole lot better than the players that have replaced them. Our current form seems to back this up as well.

Regarding Benny, will we have to run his contract down as I can't see any other club wanting to match his current wages?

 

The Musa, Mendy, Slimani, Ulloa loanees will probably all be available for sale, Kaputska may be worth a second try here.

 

It's a sad realisation but I can't see Huth having another run in the side, I just hope he gets to come on before the end of a season - a massive influence on our achievements.

 

Mahrez going would reluctantly enable investment all over the pitch, even if Dragovic joins we'd want a top young CB and a RB. 

 

One more year before our LB Fuchs off to America, maybe look at Elder in cup games. Morgan still good for a year too.

 

Can't see Kingys situation here improving and can't believe the loan is just a one off break from being on the bench, depending on how he does it could be a permanent move to Swansea or a newly promoted side.

 

Remember it's a World Cup year, so pencil in a random flash in the pan arrival along with more thoroughly scouted long term targets.

Unfortunately it isn't always that easy to get rid of players. All the players we have on loan are likely to return unless they perform well at the clubs they are on loan at and so far they are either not doing so, injured or hardly featuring.

Mahrez will leave

Vardy could well ask to go too. He's only got a few years left at the top and has clearly said he wants to win more trophies.

Ndidi is a young man with a bright future, another who could attract interest.

Maguire is decent and English and comfortable in possession. If he has a decent world cup then the vultures will circle.

 

As to the rest hard to see anyone wanting them to be honest though if things continue I can see both Silva and Iborra looking to return to Portugal and Spain.

 

Without Vardy and Mahrez we would struggle for the goals to keep us up. Look at yesterdays starting 11. How many players were capable of scoring on a regular basis?

I could see Mendy getting a chance in pre season. Played with Puel before, and nobody will be willing to pay the £13m we paid 

 

If if anyone wants them could see Musa, slimani, ulloa, king, James, benalouane, kapustka, mendy, jakupovic going. Unlikely to get offers for all of them though. 

 

Huth will retire, Hamer won’t get a new deal, Morgan and Fuchs will see out their final year can’t see them getting new deals

We're 8th, why on earth would we need to make that many changes? We aren't going to spend money to get top 4 or 5, so the best you can expect is not far off where we are now.
