Just had that Omnipollo X Buxton Lemon IPA from Tesco, forgot how good that is. Outstanding

I bought this from tesco yesterday!! What a strange coincidence, I usually browse the funny beers section at tesco and occasioanlly purchase one or two, got this one and a tiramisu stout.

At £5 for the can, it better be worth it.

Yeah it’s not cheap but Omnipollo are excellent, very shocked to see this in a Tesco.

Really? I think it’s really tasty, not the best they have done though but they set the bar high.

I’ve been doing it for about six months, initially to get Christmas presents for a couple of mates who like trying new beers. Carried on doing it for myself last three months, but I do think it is expensive at £3 per drink. I realise postage etc comes into it, plus you get a monthly magazine, which I only flick through. However, this month has four or five stouts which are drinkable, but not my favourites. I am more an IPA man.

Going to give it one more month, but will then probably cancel. Unless you are somebody who keeps a record of every different ale you drink (like one of my mates!) then maybe take the free offer and bail out, especially as the pubs are scheduled to reopen soon.

It's worth ringing them up telling them you want to cancel now, they will definitely give you an offer for a much cheaper box next month to get you to stay

Didn't like it at all. Tasted like flat lemon flavoured water, waste of a fiver. Oh well, was worth a gamble!

Fair play, hopefully they end up with more of that range in Tesco.

Tesco have a new range in now and I would recommend:

Buxton Lupulus x Citra IPA

London Beer Factory Jungle Trip

Both really good and the Buxton you can get in 4 packs.

Enjoyed both of these, the Buxton was especially nice. Good value for money atm with the £2 club card price on a few, plus the 4 pack option on some.

One thing that lockdown has helped me decide is that bottled ale is terrible. Bottled lager fine. Bottled ale awful.

This made me try a canned ale - and settled on Abbott Ale. Even this run of the mill ale was a million times better than bottled equivalents.

Anyone suggest any other decent canned ale?

And another point before I go, the Warehouse Pale Ale (brewed by Williams Brothers, formerly Hacienda) from Aldi is about as good as anything else for me at the moment.
