There was definitely a hint of menace in the air on Saturday.

I thought it started with the West Brom fans hugely over celebrating their goal and being very intimidating. It looked from the front as though they were coming over the top at the back of their stand.

I'm not however, condoning this incident because I was at the front and when I looked back I saw what looked a pretty large item being thrown into their end.

All incredibly juvenile and dangerous.

What I noticed Saturday is their a lot of lads who go , don't care about the actual game. Some people Saturday turned up completely rat arsed drunk and had no idea what was actually going on, on the pitch. Also these over the top celebrations of falling down the stairs and ending up on the floor. I'd understand if it was a massive game and was a massive goal but going 3-1 up against the shittest team in the league hardly warrants it.

Also noticed they don't sing or anything, or support the team. Spend more time in the concourse throwing beer around singing **** the IRA. I didn't see any coin throwing but did go out for a fag at HT and noticed the fence separating both fans was being targeted by mostly our fans and throwing bottles over. Reading the stuff on Facebook about it, the club have used cctv and got faces of the people throwing coins. They'll get banned but they'll still be able to get tickets and go though. Same as Madrid away, a lot of people out there who weren't even bothered about the Football.

Why WBA though, as opposed to any other game?

Thank you for the first hand report. Massive respect to all the decent travelling fans who have to put up with being associated with that kind of behaviour, my admiration for you knows no bounds.

There's always more passion (if you call it that) when we play a West Midlands side. There's usually trouble against Birmingham.

I liked our end on Saturday, part of me got hope up that we were back to how we used to be.

Obviously I don't condone throwing anything.

Our away end did seem a bit more "old school" than others recently. There was an edge to it from the off. Has been the same the last few years to be fair.

Thats cos us old lads were there, cant wait for sunday, few scores to settle with Chelsea - bugger, my knees just gone.

Not excusing our minority of idiots but hooliganism has never gone away in the West Midlands. About 8 o clock the Villa & Wolves fans were sporadically battling away around New street & in the Shakespeare pub.

We've lost WBA away next season but Wolves away won't be no love in.

But someone else undeserving had a lighter thrown at them.

Some of the people that watch football are absolute pondlife. Desperate for that one day where being a normal person goes out the window and you can throw stuff and legitimately shout vile abuse at everyone and everything. Other people, stewards, players, who cares.

Spot on. So many people appear to ‘not give a shite’ about anything very much or so it would seem?

Is defo a West Midlands thing though. Stoke, Birmingham, West Brom, Wolves, Villa and Coventry always has some kinda trouble. I'd say there's more trouble at West Midlands games then east midland games.

I guess at time of reading i was shocked to be honest,  its doesn't  matter who it was in rhe end, , but when someone put off going to a games due to the mindless behaviour of a very small minority,  it's a sad day for football, but rant over,  as you were :)

There is a whole thread decrying the morons who did It.

Don't presume because people are being light hearted in this thread that they think it's ok.

Really so why do it then? It only makes you as moronic as them.

Come on, how can they be over celebrating their goal? They're football fans who are desperate to see their team win in the hope of avoiding relegation.

Did we over celebrate our goal away at WBA in the great escape season when we were in a similar predicament to them? And in the other games which we won to ensure our survival?

If supporters aren't allowed to celebrate vociferously when they score a crucial goal then we might as well stop going to games.

They celebrated with a lot of aggression which was then reciprocated.

Not saying they don't have a right to give it the full banana but they were aggressive which winds some of our lot up.

Not condoning but thought the intimidating atmosphere was not all one way.

How on earth do these people get hold of tickets for any matches never mind away.? Its hard enough as it is being members.

It was no different to how L1 celebrate our goals at home.

Far from stopping it it would more likely encourage it. Your not dealing with normal sane people.
