I have sympathy with both Simpson and Chilwell, lack of targets is a big problem, especially against a side like Chelsea with 3 centre backs and 2 defensive midfielders. Best hope is a drilled cross aimed between the keeper and defence, Simpson in particular often crosses from too deep.

I really like Chilwell, he has a lot of qualities you can't teach and his weaknesses can be improved on with training and experience. If we want attacking full backs and who doesn't in the modern game then he is well worth persevering with at still only 21 years of age.

Danny Simpson has been a great servant and buy for this club and defensively is excellent, he's a very intelligent player. I feel for him as you can see he's bought into Puel's philosophy and doesn't hide and tries to offer something going forward but it just isn't his game. I went the West Brom away match and it was no more apparent in this game when he had plenty of opportunities to offer attacking threat but just wasn't capable.  As a defensive right back he's arguably second to none in this league but offensively offers next to nothing.

I like Chilwell, but there are definitely times when I'd rather see Fuchs playing, like when Chilwell takes a throw-in in the final third and pleads with players to come to him rather than launching it towards the box.  Surely the only reason that Chilwell is preferred over Fuchs is that Christian is nearing the end of his top flight career.  It is definitely an area to strengthen, but if the FA Cup game has shown us anything, it is that Leicester already have a promising alternative for LB, on loan at Wigan - arguably Callum Elder had a better game than Ryan Bertrand at the weekend, not to mention the assist for Grigg's winner against Man City in the previous round.

Likewise, I'd really like to see what Darnell Johnson could offer as RB after an excellent season with the U23s.  Along with George Thomas, he's one of the development squad players that I would really like to see being given a chance to prove themselves in the first team.

Would Aleksandr Kolarov be a decent shout if the deal was right? been very impressive in Italy

Our midfield and strikers are great, and our centrebacks are good as well. We really do need two new wing backs who can get forward and cross as well as defend, players like alonso basically. We'd have a really strong team then.

People suggesting Luke Shaw .....  the boy is on big money at United. He may drop to a lower package to stay in the top 6 (spurs or Chelsea) but I can’t see him  dropping salary and playing level to come here. We aren’t going to pay him enough to come. Only way would be as part of a deal plus cash to take one of our players the other way because we would be specifying that we would only sell them our player if they sell us him. He would then be told the only club they will sell him to is us. the extra dosh he would be missing would be covered up in the overall deal by United.

I think Puel might be interested in Ligue 1 fullbacks since there were contacst with Bouna Sarr.
I wouldn't be surprised if one of them come to Leicester next summer :
Younouss Sabaly
Ruben Aguilar
Jérome Roussillon
Nordi Mukiele
Kévin Malcuit

Would take Luke Shaw in a heartbeat if United don't want him. Upgrade on Chilwell and would improve with regular football

Luke Shaw will not be cheap, way too much interest in him & realistically he is a work in progress.  He is living on his old reputation

People treating Chilwell as if he was Joe ****ing Mattock.

I'm amazed at how some people keep calling for youths to be blooded in and when that happens and they make mistakes they get slaughtered for it.

At what point can we keep excusing his mistakes on youth though? 100 games? 200 games? It's not as if its the odd error, he makes such basic mistakes and doesn't have enough redeeming qualities to make up for them. Milton Keynes De Laet.

Chilwell is 21 and will improve. Lots of what's being said of him was said of Ashley Cole when he was young. Let's not write him off yet.

Simpson has been brilliant but we need a right back who is comfortable on the ball.

If Southampton do down... Get Cedric in!

Chilwell will improve. Puel is right to give him game time to help his development.

Lets Fuchs go and bring in Kieron Gibbs who’ll be looking for a move in the summer. Comfortable on the ball and looked decent going forward against us the other week.

could Nathan Redmond play right wing back?
