Clever Fox Posted 5 May 2018 Posted 5 May 2018 I think the owners have bought into his long term vision for the Club. This means he's going to get the Summer to improve the squad. The signings will be crucial to his survival. If he starts next season off like Shakey then he's likely to suffer the same faith, But if he keeps us mid table and the team shows promise then I think he will be given the time to continue. Teams and formations have to keep evolving otherwise they get caught out and sussed very quickly. If Purl can improve our Ball possession, added to our counter attacking then we'll be well on our way to success in the future. But all that takes time and fans need to understand that. Spurs almost there. Liverpool again 3 years but are on the crest of glory. for us U think the key is signings this summer.

Why does improving our play have take most of this season and then into next season. I would say none of our players have improved under Puel; none. He will have had 35 games by the end of this season and we are getting worse. What on earth would convince you here’s the guy to take us forward when we are regressing, results and performances are really bad AND none of the players are thriving? Thats why they will be bending over backwards to keep Hodgson and why we should be prepared to bend over forwards if necessary to terminate Puel’s contract. ouch!

The truth is no one knows if Puel is the man to take us forward. What we do know is he hasn't been given enough time to deliver progress and that can't be right. What we do know is that it takes around 3 seasons and T/f Windows as demonstrated by man city, liverpool, Spurs. In recent times. We also know that Puel has a proven record of improving teams and bringing through young talent. I've definitely seen improvement in some players, Ndiddi, Kelechi, Simpson. To name a few. The thing is football is not an exact science, sometimes you have to take a few backward steps before moving forward. I'd say at least 50% of the current squad are surplus to requirements. He's had to play player's just to see what they have to offer. Come the end of the season he'll have a plan and where he needs to improve the team. I say the team because we're really talking about the first 14/15 players. The rest will make up the squad. Remember there's a lot wrong with the squad none of which is his fault. Yet he has to deal with it and try and evolve the team at the same time. That takes a few windows and time. It's also why good scouting is so important. Otherwise you get stuck with players you can't move on. i haven't been convinced he's the one take us forward but I have been encouraged by his calmness and attention to detail. The retained list and the Summer signings. Will tell us a lot more. What i also know is that the owners are not yet ready to spend the type of money necessary to maybe speed things up. Preferring to build slowly. I remember when it's fans were calling for Ferguson's head, look how that turned out for utd. Have a little faith and see how it unfolds over the new season. 1

That’s the problem though I have NO FAITH in what he’s done so far, and what he is likely to do based on what I have seen. I have no faith in him in the short term or the long term.

But that's not what the club want to do so we keep trying upcoming managers. I'd beg to differ, Wilf, Malachi and Simpson have all improved. But improvement takes time. A bit like a Degree course.
Julian Joachim Jr Shabadoo Posted 5 May 2018 Posted 5 May 2018 Can't see why anyone would want to keep him. I know the players have their responsibility but I can't tell what Puel is trying to achieve, we are a fvcking shambles at the moment. Get rid!
simFox Posted 5 May 2018 Posted 5 May 2018 Mahrez needs to stop taking corners for the rest of the match

Fair point and I understand your frustration, But your making the classic mistake of judging him on a game by game basis. When you should be judging him over a period. For instance Gray was at fault for at least 3 of the palace goals. Last week. Was that the managers fault. I'd say no as you expect players to do the basics like tracking back. Consequently Grays not playing g today. That's as much as Puel or any manager could do. For me the clock starts first game in the new season when he's had a full pre-season and a few signings. Let's hope he's on the right track.
Jattdogg Posted 5 May 2018 Posted 5 May 2018 Good bye Puel. Please take half the team wth you as well.

He has done neither so it’s not judging on a game by game basis at all. Anyway we all want the best in the long run. ?
Tielemans63 Posted 5 May 2018 Posted 5 May 2018 He may well be a good manager but not in English football and not for Leicester City Football Club. 2
adamlcfcbevo85 Posted 5 May 2018 Posted 5 May 2018 While he is in charge I'm done with this football club. It's making me a right miserable git. In my 32 gears of supporting this team through thick and thin this is my most depressing time. F##k you Puel 1
Soar Fox Posted 5 May 2018 Posted 5 May 2018 And you will still have people defending him. Unbelievable. 1

Embarrassing from top to bottom, they don't deserve the support at the moment. People will slate us for it, but its shocking.
