What do you want?

  1. 1. What do you want?

    • A progressive footballing side that can pass the ball and keep possession
    • A team that is hard to beat, but lacks creativity going forwards
    • An attacking team that is exciting to watch, but at the cost of the defensive solidity
    • A counter attacking team with low possession that turns defence into attack in an instant
    • An innovative team that tries different things and takes risks

can ' a team that wins' be an option?

No because that isn't something you can control, but you can control the philosophy, and that is kinda the point you can't always win, but you can build something that gives you the best chance of winning. The way you win though is now getting to be as important as how, look at United they are second and getting battered by fans and critics alike. Option 2 is the hard to beat option, pragmatic and successful but not great to watch. IF you win then that's ok, but if you lose or draw playing negative football then fans support goes down very quickly. Which is what Mourinho has found out and to some extent Puel. Whereas Klopp gets all the plaudits and praise for his attacking football, despite being behind United.

Leicester City of 2015/16 was utter perfection.

It took us a while to get our first clean sheet but after that Claudio had us defensively strong than I can remember in my lifetime.

Two lines of four, in perfect alignment and synchronised movement, happy to sit back, sacrifice possession and absorb all the pressure, with a wizard in the middle intercepting and tackling everything, and a breathtaking attacking force that can turn a defence to attack in 3 seconds.

That's the Leicester City the whole world fell in love with, and I'd like us to retain as much of that identity as possible.

Our problem was failing to upgrade on the personnel, losing the crucial component to that machine, and an all-round malaise around the squad which led to a drop in performance and consistency and a failure to evolved which ultimately led to the loss of Claudio and Shakey.

I really like Puel, I think we can really develop under him. I hope he can grow us over the next few seasons, especially with the new training ground coming (he has a history of this at previous clubs).

I hope he's ambitious in the summer - hopefully the owners will back him with the Mahrez money and he's able to buy a replacement for him and upgrades on others.

wouldn't call it perfection but it was bloody good.

Honestly have never seen the point in boring, defensive trying not to concede football. Terrible to watch just kills the game as a spectacle. Might as well just agree to have 1 point each before the game and not bother wasting everyone's time.

For me it's always be an attacking policy trying to create chances, you're likely to be hit on the counter attack a few times but you should also be creating a good amount of chances to score.

to aim for 55-60% possession (which is a big ask).

This is an enormous ask, there is only 4 teams this season that fall into this category, Man City, Arsenal, Spurs & Liverpool

we are currently 10th in the possession average table averaging 47.4% a game

Team with 11 messi who never play bad and get dropped every single match they play bad

Otherwise, no matter what happen, most here will ask for. Manager sacks. Playing style doesn't matter.

I enjoy watching us most when we're aggressive and incisive.

The 'fearless' thing has been done to death by the club, but we're at our best when we throw caution to the wind and attack.

I prefer us to keep it on the deck, but I don't mind us playing a few long balls if we're looking to attack. I'd rather watch us knock it into the channels and throw people forward than dick about with it around the midfield and defence without getting into the final third.

I should have been a bit more specific really. teams of roughly the same ability as us. To be able to control the game against such teams and dictate the tempo to them.

For some teams, the defensive, trying not to concede football, is the best way they have available to get a result. Its needs must for some

I just want to win, I don’t care if we shithouse a win or dominate a side. I get similar enjoyment from both.

It’s always nice to shit house a 1-0 win though when you really don’t deserve to. Even better if it’s away from home on a cold Tuesday night

This is a bit of a pointless debate imo because if we had the players and options Man City have I’m sure we’d all like to see us play that style of play (which is probably a combination of 1 and 3 above). 4 suits our players best but is now too predictable and it’s up to Claude to look at our players and go with what he thinks is the best system moving forward. I’m glad I’m not in his shoes given the backlash he gets from fans about performances when we’re working our way into new systems, albeit some of the results could be better which is obviously the main thing

Whatever you call it no fvcker could live with us. The only blemish that season was arsenil doing the double on us. Not that it helped them lollol saying that spuds made up for the arsenil hurt lollollol

Went for the bottom one. It's tough to explain that one because it isn't any particular one style, but I would like to see us try different stuff. I haven't seen a side in England play how we did in 2015/16 for a while. I think it was partially how unorthodox it was in top level football nowadays that caught people out as much as anything.

We should always take calculated risks. If we didn't we'd never achieve anything.

Points first, aesthetics irrelevant. I hate discussions on how we should play. Results matter as they heavily influence morale for the entire week. Nothing feels better than a win. Game are only 1 hour and 45 minutes long. The week is 168 hours.

At a guess, we'd be above 52-53% if Puel was here from July

I also went for the bottom one and as you said I haven’t got any sort of idea how to fit the criteria of that selection,

I would like us to be a bit more unorthodox and try different things as I think the flexibility in football has disappeared

i liked some of the ridiculousness of 15/16 when we would have 3 players on the halfway line while defending corners

when we used to have 3 players taking corners

trying something different on kickoffs instead of just punting them forward and hoping for the best

That sort of percentage would put us 6/7 in the possession league along with Southampton and Man Utd

If your happiness on the planet is determined by the result of a football match each week, i think style of play comes a long way down the list of worries.
