Ahead of England's game against Italy, the former Arsenal defender Dixon gave a scathing verdict on Jamie Vardy , and how he had offered "nothing" in his 22-minute touchless cameo against Holland, and that Gareth Southgate needed to "see more" from the Leicester City striker.

Oh, and that he wondered "what was going on in Vardy's head".

Lee Dixon is an awful pundit, clueless and obviously never thinks before his pea like brain tries to engage....

If Kane scored that Vardy goal everyone would be waxing lyrical about his quick thinking, alertness and killer instinct.  I am usually a reasonable kinda guy but the world is a cvnt.  X

Just been on ITV Hub to watch it again (it's about 15 mins in). Dixon is even more scathing than I remember. "22 minutes, gave us nothing, made no runs, we need to see more, what was going on in his head, blah, blah, blah."

Bilic clasps his hands to his face in disbelief and responds, "As a defender you don't want him on the pitch." and, "It was just one game.".

So, the bloke with a relatively respectable management career rates him, and the bloke who's only famous for lobbing seaman doesn't know the first thing about what he brings to the pitch. Not really surprising is it?

I have realised the error of my TV football-watching ways and decided to live my life pundit-free.

I turn the game on at kick off, watch the first half, make a cup of tea and turn the sound off for 15 minutes, then watch the second half and when the final whistle goes I switch off. I see what I see and form my own opinions from that. I don't need some overpaid, biased, illiterate, cliche-loving never-has-been ex pro to tell me what's what.

exactly what I do. Turn to the channel just before kick-off. Watch first half. Do something for 15 minutes or change to a different channel. Watch second half.

Then I'm done.

If he's made those comments he's clearly clueless and Bilic rightly put him in his place.

He's either not watching enough football or is one of those wierdos like Danny Mills that hates any player who doesn't play for a "top six" side.

Maybe he'll think before opening his gob spouting rubbish next time.

God, so many bloody adverts on ITV. How can anyone watch this channel. BBC rules. Well worth paying the Licence fee so at least we have some channels without moronic adverts.
