Just bin him off, serves no benefit to keep him and just means the club can begin the process of a replacement sooner.

considering there's been nothing from the owners that he 'might be' sacked, the noise was always that he was staying.

Has there ever been an instance of our owners briefing that a manager 'might' be sacked before they make the call? The truth is that nobody knows anything until Vichai makes a decision and calls either Rudkin or Whelan to implement it. All other talk, whether implying that he's getting sacked or staying, is basically just guesswork.

The vote of "Vote of Confidence" is normally taken as a sign a manager is on the edge of being sacked - like Ranieri.  Although they might want to just bypass that.
