Dragovic is one of the biggest mysterys since Leon Crncic.

Seemed like a very solid player, no idea why we haven't gone for him.

Didnt he say he would be more inclined to sign if Puel wasnt here? Puel seems to be going nowhere so unsurprisingly he wont be signing, especially now that Evans is here. Drag wont get on the bench as I imagine Morgan will be there.

The reason he is not here is, as some of us think, he was miffed at being dropped immediately Morgan was fit.  Put yourself in his place and what would you do? He  must be playing regularly next season to retain his place in the Austrian Team.  So no real mystery.   Unless Puel grows some balls, Wes will probably feature on many occasions next term.

Seems even less likely now. Not going to be in ahead of Maguire and Evans, and we’re not going to play with 3 CBs. He’d be a bit pricey for a backup, and we’ve already got Morgan, who for better or worse will be going nowhere, to do that job.

Yep Morgan far better than Drago.

It occurs to me that we had an agreement to buy him at a pre agreed fee around 18/20m.  I think the less than happy experience he has had prompted his club to suggest they look for a bigger fee elsewhere come the summer and he takes a cut of that extra dosh. be interesting to see just how much they do sell him for

Don't really see him going for more than £18/20m due to the lack of exposure/game time he got here.

I can see us sticking with Benny/Armarty/Youth as the 4th. choice CB.

He he seemed like a decent player but i’ll take Evans over him.

Amartey has never played CB for us.

He has played a couple of times when we dropped to a 3 at the back

Leverkusen bought him for £16m two years a go. He failed their to a point as they sent him on loan to us a year later. He's failed at Leicester to a pint as he couldn't get in the first team.

They'll do well to make a profit on him.

Failed to get a Pint in Leicester? Seriously though virtually every game we saw Drago, when played in his natural role as a CB, he was very assured and sound. I don't know why he was not the first player signed and £17-£20M is not a risk for someone who has shown he can cut it in the Premier League. I can only think he must have reversed over Claude's cat in the car park.

Isn't Evens a left sided CB like Maguire. Drago is a right sided CB so we still need him. The problem is he wants game time which is understandable.

Puel had the difficulty that Morgan was Captain and difficult to leave out. We can offer Drago a better proposition than most other clubs outside top 6

Morgans time is limited and Drago should see that and come back. But it might take a bit of persuading from Puel.

Evans is strong with both feet but does have preference of LCB.

Maguire is right footed and I guess is often used as LCB due to how comfortable he is on either side.

I think they are both pretty flexible but would have thought we will see Evans at LCB, Maguire switching to RCB and being absolutely fine there

I'd like another CB.

Puel clearly didn't see dragovic as an improvement on Morgan though so it's unlikely the club would want to pay £20m for him. If we were going to bid I'd assume it would be for significantly less, hence us not enforcing the purchase clause (and obviously drag would have had a say also).

I'd be surprised if it happened now as I'm sure drag will want to be a first choice somewhere to get his career back on track. Presumably he'll have to go down a little to try to rise again.

I  think Maguire, Evans, Morgan, Benalouane and Amartey if needs must will be enough.

Bring Sam Hughes into that equation too...

The persons that failed here were Puel and Morgan. Drago did all that was asked of him which is more than can be said for the other 2.
