davieG Posted 8 June 2018 Posted 8 June 2018 This site reckons Gary Monk / Brum are interested in loaning him. Also includes a review of him https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/george-thomas-birmingham-city-transfer-14759045 2
MC Prussian Posted 8 June 2018 Posted 8 June 2018 (edited) Lad is a promising talent and needs match practice. Doesn't look like he's in Puel's plans for next season by the sound of it. Good for Thomas. Edited 8 June 2018 by MC Prussian
LCCFox96 Posted 8 June 2018 Posted 8 June 2018 (edited) Loan to play under Gary Monk at a team like Birmingham would be a sensible move for him Edited 8 June 2018 by LCCFox96
lgfualol Posted 8 June 2018 Posted 8 June 2018 Would be a top loan for him. Hope we get a couple more getting chances in the Championship next season. Did a lot for chilwell, barnes and choudhury.
Gerard Posted 8 June 2018 Posted 8 June 2018 If he goes on loan we'll have to either buy another striker or keep at least one of Musa, Slimani, Ulloa or Okazaki. After his recent Wales cap it indicated he might be good enough to play third choice striker behind Vardy and Iheanacho but it would be best for his development to get a season in the Championship especially now he's a good age at 21.
mozartfox Posted 8 June 2018 Posted 8 June 2018 Might be wise to shift out the dead-wood before farming out the young and up an coming. 1 1

Like Barnes it's pointless having them here all season if they're going to be restricted to a couple of hundred minutes of first team football all season. Let them have a full season at the league below and see if they excel. 1

foxes21 Posted 8 June 2018 Posted 8 June 2018 Reckon he will be recalled to replace Gray during the season

When we signed Thomas he was a 1st team regular at cov, mark robins told him why we he want to be a development player for us when he can play week in week out at cov, so he knew what he was signing up to, my concern is the lads wasted a year on us,he’s got a big decision on his hands,as I feel he’ll either make the grade or be sold at a small profit Edited 8 June 2018 by Russell sprout 2

He'll be disappointed not to have even managed a cup outing, but from the club's perspective they're probably glad to have seen some promise, integrated him and worked on his attributes for a year with the top level coaching which he might not have received at Coventry. If they can now offer him a few months or a year at FLC level, they and he will probably come to the conclusion that things have thus far gone to plan. If he breaks into that Birmingham side and adapts well, he'll have an experience which he wouldn't necessarily have got had he stayed.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 8 June 2018 Posted 8 June 2018 Loan the lad out, to up his level, and boost his confidence,

The problem with the decision he made to come to Leicester is that, had he not tried, he would never had known if it would have worked out or not. I think he should have been brought into the first team squad a lot earlier and disappointed that he has not managed to get on the pitch from the bench. He should not look at the last season as a waste but you are right, he now has a choice to make and I hope he will choose to stay. I see him in the front three in the middle of the three behind Vardy. He is the type of player we were signing under Pearson, for me........ he ticks all the boxes.
Mehrez Posted 8 June 2018 Posted 8 June 2018 Perfect for the lad, get him some experience. We’ll buy plea

Totally agree on all points.....and I guess the fact t LCFC increased his salary to +£3k/week makes the gamble financially worthwhile for him. Win-win scenario really for GT as he is good enough to earn the same money in Championship/Div1 standard with regular 1st team football
Blue fox LE2 Posted 8 June 2018 Posted 8 June 2018 Would rather we keep our own and bring them through but it’s unlikely he’s gonna start many games for us next season so the best for him and for us if he goes on loan to a championship club where he is playing week in week out. Help him progress a lot more than just playing for the under 23’s and who knows.... if he does go out on loan he will more likely come back a better player and then maybe push for a place in the first team squad the season after
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 8 June 2018 Posted 8 June 2018 I think he could be capable of making a breakthrough here next season albeit mainly as sub and in cup games and in fairness to Puel he does promote the youth etc etc however if loaning him for the season is best for his development then fair enough I suppose
