He has played great today but if someone comes in for him. Hopefully with an offer but otherwise a reasonable loan then I would jump at it we so need to get a few high wage earners who really are wasted at LCFC off our books. X It's certain that there's a player in there somewhere, though, if we could only find it. 1

Always played wide and had to track back. It's amazing what playing in your natural position can do for you. 1

However if we are shipping out a number of forwards there may well be space for him again. We've not really been linked with replacements for those who are expected to leave. 1

I think it DEFINATELY applies to Amartey. I think Amartey could be a good player if we picked one position and gave him a decent go at it. He always gets one or two games in different positions in between sitting on the bench for months. It's not fair on him to expect him to turn in MOTM performances when we can't even settle on a position for him. 2
WestLothianFox Posted 22 June 2018 Posted 22 June 2018 Should sell him if we get a reasonable offer. As the old saying goes, 'One swallow does not make a summer'. Can you imagine what people will be saying about him if he stays and has a couple if bad games.

I really like Musa, but i cant see where he would fit in with us. I hope he does great in the WC and some club comes in for him. Super happy for him with his goals today

(sorry, I've been hanging out in the pedants corner thread in general chat). As for Amartey, he started off here in his favoured position, centre mid.

Lcfcbisto Posted 22 June 2018 Posted 22 June 2018 Yes he played well and scored a couple of great goals. People seem to forget at the World Cup you get games that are championship level at best and sometimes worse, in this case lceland have some players that would struggle in the championship. Just because it’s a country’s name doesn’t make them any better 2

simFox Posted 22 June 2018 Posted 22 June 2018 He's basically playing on home turf as a Russian league player, so of course his confidence is high and it's shown in his performance. Back in the prem it's a different story. Get him sold while we can. 1
Ian Nacho Posted 22 June 2018 Posted 22 June 2018 There's no doubt he's a decent footballer at a level but I just don't think he's suited for the Premier League. That first goal, yes it was fantastic, however, the second goal would never ever happen in the Premier League, quite shocking defending. Of course, if he played in a week in week out for us he would get a half decent goal return for us, the same with Slimani, but the pair of them are far too inconsistent.

When we signed him he was a regular at centre back for both Copenhagen and Ghana. I still think hed be a better centre back than centre mid. To be fair he'll be behind Maguire, Evans and possibly Morgan at cb and be behind Wilf, Silva, iborra and maybe Hamza at cm. And then he will probably be behind Pereira and Simpson for rb. While i do like Amartey and think he has potential, he needs to nail down one position. Maybe a loan would do him good.

He should either be sold at a reasonable price considering his showing at the WC or given another chance to impress with us. Not sure he is very happy in the PL though.
