The World Cup according to my Mum;

1) Why is the Swiss manager spitting? He's not running about.

2) Neymar's hair looks like a bloody bird's nest.

Stay tuned for more.

I wondered why the TV directors manage to cut to a player or coach or the bench just as they gob one out.

Surely the Swiss can find a better striker than Seferovic. He's an absolute donkey.

We've been trying, we've been trying hard.

But the last great striker we've had was Alex Frei - and that was about eight years ago now.

But Petkovic thinks differently and has faith in Seferovic.

Swiss starting to come into this a bit now.

Yeah, Brazil have Neymar, Jesus, Willian, Coutinho. Switzerland have Shaquiri.

What is the point of Haris Seferovic? Been wondering for about five years.

I was about to ask exactly this, well more specifically how the Swiss have not worked out he is a train wreck of a professional footballer yet, they have had long enough.

@MC Prussian explain your nations lack of ability to spot a player that should be playing regional football regularly turning out for the national side, haven’t you got a young striker with a decent strike rate as well, literally no excuse.

What happened to Breel Embolo?

Good first half. Coutinho, Willian and Jesus are a huge upgrade on Oscar, Hulk and Fred. It's also nice not having to worry about David Luiz.

I was going to post something about him as well.

But more the point, there really aren't any alternatives. Obviously Kosovo haven't produced any decent goal scorers over the last fifteen years.

They'd be a tidy side if they had a goal threat.

They have no outstanding goal scorers. I don’t like the “surely can’t be worse than” arguement but as far as Haris is concerned there’s an arguement  to be made

In terms of national team strikers, we have

Seferovic (donkey) - 4 goals in 20 matches for Benfica last season

Embolo (injured for a long time) - 3 goals in 21 matches for Schalke last season

Drmic (injured for a long time, donkey) - 4 goals in 13 matches for Gladbach last season

Mehmedi (donkey) - 3 goals in 17 Bundesliga matches last season

Derdiyok (donkey) - 3 goals in 19 matches for Galatasaray last season

And Petkovic doesn't like to experiment. He has the aforementioned favourites, partly because of the Balkan connection, and he nominates them no matter how bad they are.

There's a handful of younger, talented Swiss strikers (Albian Ajeti, Michael Frey, Simone Rapp, Dimitri Oberlin, Cédric Itten), but they play in the domestic league and as long as Petkovic is at the helm, nothing will change in that regard.
