How did Slimani come into that? I find it hard to understand them articles they’re all over the shop.

I’d imagine slimani is the actual target but saying a young English player could be moving to Spain is better click bait!

I thought this to be honest when I read it hence why I couldn’t get my head around it.

Back at Lazio now.

I wonder whether somebody somewhere could get his career back on track. 25 now and entering the most crucial phase of his still young career.

He isn’t highly rated. That’s why Lazio want him.

30 million barely gets you jack grealish these days, I really think leicester should push for a lot more.

Lazio aren't an English club, Gray is only worth his actual ability to them. English clubs pay a premium on young English players BECAUSE they're young and English, he doesn't have the same appeal to a foreign side.

Plus, their owner is one of the hardest businessmen in European football. He'll only bite if he believes he can buy cheap, get a couple good years out of Gray and then make a healthy profit. He's shrewd but not in the batshit sense that Sporting are.

Think Levy but a bit more of a dick.

If we sell him to Lazio we'll be lucky to get 25.

Sell and buy Promes to go with Hazard.

Vardy

Promes Maddison Hazard

Ndidi Silva

Chilwell Maguire Evans Ricardo

Kasper

That'd leave me feeling a whole lot more optimistic.

Prepare yourself for...

Iheanacho

Albrighton Maddison Diabate

Ndidi Silva

Chilwell Wes Benny Ricardo

But because he's english all clubs should have to pay more. English clubs will pay a premium for them so foreign clubs should also have to pay that premium because there's nothing stopping leicester selling him to an english club.

To be fair though this is all theory because examples of English players moving abroad are rare. Part of me thinks though this might be down to foreign clubs not buying them because they don't want to pay the English player premium.

and thats exactly why we're not going to sell Gray to Lazio.

He's worth whatever we decide he's worth.

Posted a clip on Instagram of him scoring against Man U, saying he's looking forward to the first match of the season. Really don't think he's going anywhere.

Well technically that's true of anyone under contract.

But 25m is probably the most we'd ever really get for him.

At the minute we can still con someone by claiming he has potential, sooner or later people are going to cotton on to the fact he's just a pacy one trick pony who hasn't improved since he got here.

That only works if there's an English club interested and bidding.

If there isn't, he's worth what they're willing to pay. It depends whether we're more desperate to sell than they are to buy.

I doubt either is true really. We'd happily keep him and Lazio would happily pursue better targets, he's not worth a great deal tbf.

If we had a decent replacement lined up (a massive 'If', I know) and we'd not just lost Mahrez then i would shed no tears about Gray leaving. Completely flatters to deceive and shows few genuine signs of improvement. But as things stand, we can't really afford to lose him.

I think that's how we will line up too.

No way, need wingers with creativity and so far he's about the only one we've got.

I think Gray has a lot of potential. We should try and keep him. Plus we don't have many wingers at all anyway, we can't let another go.

For sure he hasn't been consistent with good performances but he's constantly in and out of the starting 11, perhaps he needs a consistent run!
