peach0000 Posted 2 August 2018 Posted 2 August 2018 Someone who is Grays age, english and as highly rated should be pushing 40 if not 50 million in todays market for me. 2

I go to games home and away amd see very little at this level. He's still very young. I think he has the ability to become very good if given a consistent run in the starting 11.
RutlanderFox Posted 2 August 2018 Posted 2 August 2018 Of all the times to sell him this summer would make the least sense
Guest Posted 2 August 2018 Posted 2 August 2018 Whether you rate him or not, selling him at this point would be monumentally thick given that we've only got two other wingers in the squad, one of whom is still hugely unproven at this level
Ted Maul Posted 2 August 2018 Posted 2 August 2018 Keep. Deserves his chance on the right now Mahrez has gone. Hopefully he will kick on this season.
Popular Post StriderHiryu Posted 2 August 2018 Popular Post Posted 2 August 2018 The jury's out on whether he can make it or not, but it would be the wrong moment to sell him. He's great mates with Chilwell and Maddison and this season has his best ever opportunity to step out of the shadow and become the man. How awesome would it be to have a first team with players like Choudhury, Chilwell, Maddison, Gray, Maguire, Vardy and Albrighton all starting? Lots of English players, with diverse backgrounds (which in my opinion is one of the best things about Leicester as a city) and a mixture of young players, players at their peak, and a living legend and talisman. I think this team could play some nice stuff, would generally have a great attitude and would really get us fans on our feet. 10
Grebfromgrebland Posted 2 August 2018 Posted 2 August 2018 If we even entertain this then we should have someone REALLY good lined up. (Who has also agreed to come here)

Still unconvinced. Of all the people saying 'keep', I have heard literally no one on this forum suggesting that he is able to take that vacant wing position. So, after two and a half years, when does a prospect have to stop being a prospect and step up to the next level? Gray still hasn't quite done this. IMO, if we get a good enough offer - £20+ million, we should sell. Could allow us to get Promes and Hazard?
STUHILL Posted 2 August 2018 Posted 2 August 2018 Don't see this happening at all. We should keep him. This is his final season to impress though IMO. Obviously he has only just turned 22 and so can still make a big breakthrough later on, but I think if he doesn't make a consistent impact this season for us, then it would be better for us and him to move on and seek a fresh challenge. We would also still get a decent fee for him too. In saying that, I do think he could have a very good season for us and finally make a breakthrough here. Him on the left and new signing on the right, with Diabate and Albrighton back-ups. He needs to play though and a bit of patience with keeping him in the team, could reap big rewards for us. 1

jayfox26 Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 The same people saying we should get rid of Diabate are also saying get rid of Gray. Anyone that thinks we will be signing 2 top wingers before the window shuts is going to be disappointed. We'll be lucky if we get 1!

SheppyFox Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 If he is sold we need two wingers, as it stands I don’t see us getting one, never mind two.
Dahnsouff Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 No, keep. First opportunity to be “the man” on the right without knowing he is out of the first 11 once Mahrez was back. Make or break time though, but I have a suspicion he may finally step up with this knowledge of being the de facto starter on the right, plus Puel’s Brand A Yoof backing. Having said that, maybe Puel will stick him on the left....

So now you have one Though I would trade him and cash for Promes and Hazard in a heartbeat if we got them on long-term deals. Gray has been flawed, but he has also felt a great deal of pressure to perform to justify his place. Some players thrive under pressure when they start, some need some starts to realize they belong. Some fail. Idk where Gray is, but it wouldn't surprise me any more to see him thrive w Mahrez gone than to see him fail when gifted the starts. In any event, we invested heavily in him last season. Unless Claude thinks him a total loss, he stays.
Dahnsouff Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 I agree, too much “new shiny toy” mentality when it comes to being linked with players 3

You say that Gray is good enough to step into Mahrez position but then contradict yourself by advocating getting a new starter in Promes and Hazard in which case you are agreeing with me. Which is it? Gray or new signing for that starting position? Edited 3 August 2018 by murphy
bpfox Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 WHAT HES STILL HERE, gee a was hoping he would have taken the hint and left by now.
Grebfromgrebland Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 Gray seems ahead of Diabate at the minute so we have to keep him. Plus losing Musa would mean we have a week to buy 2 first team starters. I just don't think Leicester can attract better than what we already have. We look behind Fulham, Wolves, West Ham and Everton right now which is fine, we just need to get used to it.
Finnegan Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 Sell and buy Promes to go with Hazard. Vardy Promes Maddison Hazard Ndidi Silva Chilwell Maguire Evans Ricardo Kasper That'd leave me feeling a whole lot more optimistic. 1
