Blimey, give the guy a chance! What's with the hate for this guy? Let him play for us first before judging...

Why should he get any favoritism?

It's not favoritism, but judge him after he's played a few games at least. Or at least don't write him off before he's been announced.

More to the point, WHERE is the hate you're referring to? Hate is a strong word and I've not read anyone express that.

He have already played.

he played bad and then he played less, another reason to judge him

we have seen his stats and higlights,we have seen how is his career progressing

we have all the right to judge not only footballer, but the club who is getting him as Mahrez replacement

In the modern age of social media, criticism equates to hate and disagreement is tantamount to abuse.

No. There's a clear distinction.

West ham sign Anderson.

We're signing this guy.

West Ham can afford to waste huge amounts of money because they didn't have to pay anything for their new £700m stadium...

There's should be but in many cases there isn't. The freedom to self-publish opinions on the internet seems to have been delivered with a toxic combination of monstrous egotism and extraordinary sensitivity.

Changes everything - he was sh1t cos Monaco were willing to ‘give’ him away. Now we are paying £12.5m ...........

Monaco fans were creaming themselves about getting £5m for him and other French club fans were wondering how Monaco manage to get good money for their players every time.

If we have really paid £12.5m apiece for both Ward and Ghezzal then what the hell is going on at the club? Both players are wanted rid of by their previous clubs and with no other suitors. Why do we go in and not try and exploit the seller's vulnerability? They must be high fiving each other in the boardroom and laughing at our expense.

FWIW I'm not totally against the Ghezzal signing as he has shown some top form for Lyon albeit over a short period and enough for a club like Monaco to take him on. As in any deal though it's all price dependent. If we could get him for a small fee from Monaco and structure his wages that we could easily shift him on a year down the line then that's fine but at some point the money involved doesn't represent good value on the risk you're taking. If he fails here we'll no doubt be stuck with him for three or four years.

I like that. I think it very well worded, superlatives in effective places etc.

But, and I know this is very off-trend, I accept that I could be wrong. ;)

Who the hell are you to call me sensitive!

I think he'll be decent. No doubt be inconsistent but there aren't many wingers in the world that aren't.

Decent buy. Not overly exciting but decent. Hopefully another winger to come in that's a bit more exciting.

Fair comment. But it won’t be £14m on Ghezzal that makes you bankrupt, it’ll be £45m on Slimani and Musa (+ massive wages) that’ll kill you, if anything

It's an accumulation of making bad VFM signings because you don't do enough due diligence on your signings.

Slimani was bought as a last minute panic buy for £29m when his release clause stated he was available for £23m the month before. We had Vardy as No9 and Slimani was never going to take his place. Slimani was bought because he's a grafter like Okazaki but had goals and was a threat in the air. We basically bought him to be Okazaki with more goals and after watching him play a couple of times it was clear as day he was never a No10. We spent a fortune with little research. It's not Slimani's fault he failed here, he was due to fail the moment we bought him, horses for courses and all that.

If we really have paid £25m for both Ward and Ghezzal then we deserve everything we get.

Slimani's release clause was half what we ended up paying for him

IIRC he had a release clause of £23m that expired after a certain date that summer when we could have got him for that, decided not to and changed our minds a few weeks later and paid another £6m.

That alone should have got Rudkin the bullet.

Monaco fans (commenting on the French l'equipe newspaper website) seem chuffed with the business and dismissive of the player....

"C’est pas une légende de dire que les clubs anglais sont des pigeons 14M pour un joueur pas titulaire indiscutable et qui est arrivé libre l’été dernier chapeau Monaco"

"Une bonne affaire pour Monaco, un joueur venant libre de Lyon donc zéro dépense et revendu 14 millions, c'est une affaire. Ce joueur manque de percussion, il est moyen, il va cirer le banc de Leicester. Si Puel pense qu'il remplacera Mahrez, il se trompe."

I'll leave you to run those through your favourite translator but I reckon you get the gist. (a 'pigeon' in colloquial French is someone fooled or duped, gullible perhaps)
