Totally underwhelming. Another bargain bucket signing. Purse strings definitely being tightened.

What other bargain bucket signings have there been? Evans was a bargain due to a relegation clause, not his actual value.

Where has this extra 10 million came from?

Changes everything - he was sh1t cos Monaco were willing to ‘give’ him away. Now we are paying £12.5m ...........

Odd that some were hoping that an Iranian fellah (playing in a lower standard of football) would be joining us, but not so enthusiastic over this acquisition.  FT is like Love Island without the Totty.

Give him and Puel a break ffs.

It's more that we're not being linked with players of higher value. Our net spend is amongst the lowest in the league. I might be wrong but I feel the owners are looking to reduce spending, perhaps because of the huge investment in the training ground and planned ground expansion.

Whether it’s £4m or £14m, it’s still chicken feed these days.

I’m willing to give the guy a chance.

Hoping we’ll all be singing his praises, following his full debut ?

Bargain, just you miserable buggers wait and see.....

I'm sure Monaco thought the same thing when he was free! :P

As fans I think on the whole we are pretty fair and I feel he'll get a chance and I really hope he nails it.

As a collective, we are awful at giving players a chance. Embarrassing at times.

Maybe Puel will work his je ne sais pas ?

Have we ever written off a player so thoroughly before they've even kicked a ball for us?

.....I have never seen him play before and perhaps a you tube reel is only there to showcase his best bits.

He looks quite useful, seems to be a team player, can pick a pass and has something about him. The feedback on here is poor and I suspect most have not seen him in a full game. Except for Bailey (from the FT wish List), this is the guy I would choose and seems a good fit for this team.

I may be way wrong about this....... but I think we could be pleasantly surprised.

If this guy turns out to be half decent this thread is going to be gold in the future!

Don’t worry mate - he’s genuine turd.

I’ve watched all the coverage that’s available out there in YouTube land.

My conclusion is that if, IF, we can get his top form out of him, he’ll easily be our best wide attacking player. Better than Gray, Albrighton and Diabate.

Currently, i think Albrighton is our best traditional winger, and Gray has the best direct attacking ability. Both Gray and Diabate are very streaky in form.

It's not about writing players off, no one has done that.  It is really criticism of the club's transfer policy in regard to filling this right wing spot.

Any way you look at it , this guy is unproven.  May be worse than Diabate or Gray, might not, but it is a risk and underwhelming.  We have lost an arguably world class player in that position and we should be aiming for the best and most risk free player that we could attract.  We have the money.

Huh? Did you see what I was responding to? Not really about whether or not this is a good signing.

That attitude to money gets you relegated and on the brink of bankruptcy.

Even Apple aren't as flippant about wasting money that they consider millions of Pounds neither here nor there.

Blimey, give the guy a chance! What's with the hate for this guy? Let him play for us first before judging...

Fair comment. But it won’t be £14m on Ghezzal that makes you bankrupt, it’ll be £45m on Slimani and Musa (+ massive wages) that’ll kill you, if anything
