Not a good sign! Either a liar or clueless Or Musa, Slimani, Ulloa and Benalouane count as "valuable" players. In any case, Puel's grasp of English isn't the best, that much we know. And managers hardly ever give away transfer updates, anyway. Edited 3 August 2018 by MC Prussian

We consistently just trying to keep our heads above water - hold onto our best players and recruit players who are no better really than we've really got. Evans I'm not sure about - he was poor last season and looked slow from what I've seen. Time will tell. Perreira looks a good footballer but I worry about him positionally. Again too early to judge. Maddison looks great but he's young so I expect some inconsistency. We keep selling our best players every summer, and I'm not sure where this big reinvestment the owners promised on players has gone. Also as far as pre-season goes, I'm not sure what we're learning - several players have been given way more game time than we will see them during the season - I'll be highly suprised if we see Elder play left wing for us? All seems quite disfunctional to be honest, and I think we'll be in for a similar first 8 games as we had last season. I think Benalouane and Wes being the most likely starters at United on Friday sums it up to be honest. The rumours persist about Puel as well, which would suggest no one is convinced by him. If we end up sacking him early doors this year, it'll be a farce, as we may as well have done it at the end of last season, but as is ever the case with our club, common sense never prevails. I can’t help but feel that the owners haven’t pumped money in this season due to not being 100% certain on Puel.
ARM1968 Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 They need some money to pay him off and a decent wedge for the new guy come January.
Mike Oxlong Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 Tator Peelor must be the new head of recruitment
HankMarvin Posted 3 August 2018 Posted 3 August 2018 We got lucky last year Final position majorly flattered the team and results, didn’t win for ages but the teams below were all shit and couldn’t win. I sense a much more competitive league this year out side top 6 wolves fulham West Ham everton Brighton All have strengthened/ closed the cap. it could be argued we are weaker without mahrez, until we see what impact Maddison has in the top flight. 1
fairbanksh Posted 4 August 2018 Posted 4 August 2018 Not planning for a quality replacement for Mahrez is pathetic I agree that several teams have strengthened I don’t see that we have Most of the pundits stated how important this recruitment window was. Worried that we do not possess the vision and scouting/ negotiating skills to move forward Mediocraty reigns
CosbehFox Posted 4 August 2018 Posted 4 August 2018 The common ‘no plan for Mahrez’ is a cop out for me. I’m not aiming this at any particular person. We dont see whats happened behind the scenes. I fully suspect there has been plenty of avenues tried but none have come off. Puel is only part of the signings. There’s a team there staffed to have the foresight 2
Jattdogg Posted 4 August 2018 Posted 4 August 2018 (edited) With the names being mentioned im shocked we havent given conrad a rolling 5 year contract for 4th choice keeper Edited 4 August 2018 by Jattdogg

ARM1968 Posted 5 August 2018 Posted 5 August 2018 It’s going from reasonable, through bad and is now careening down the alley of worse.
SecretPro Posted 5 August 2018 Posted 5 August 2018 (edited) Can we just ****ing sign somebody half decent already? Jesus, who knew we were such an ugly proposition. Edited 5 August 2018 by SecretPro 1

Let’s be right, we definitely are not a very attractive proposition. The best thing we have going for us, is money and the appeal of Premier League football. We’re in the same boat as about 8 other teams. 1
fairbanksh Posted 5 August 2018 Posted 5 August 2018 It’s not that we’re unattractive it’s just that we have the most inept naive and generally useless recruitment team going Its been known for a long time that we make the hardest task of negotiating We spend 12m plus on a third choice keeper but no replacement of any clad for Mahrez We lose out on several targets due to poor negotiating skills We continue not to match the ambition of the owners to any kind of positive plan Rudkin and co are really rather poor

So far only Mahrez has gone who we'd rather have kept. Other than not replacing Riyad (which we might still do) it's been a pretty decent window. To make out it's been some sort of unmitigated disaster just isn't true. The transfer window isn't over yet so let's see what happens. Also, here's a ****ing crazy idea, let's see the signings play before we decide we're the worst club in the universe. 11 1
An Away Move Posted 5 August 2018 Posted 5 August 2018 If there was a team psychologist for Foxes Talk, he/she would send this thread to train alone so its negativity wouldn’t prove contagious to the rest of the threads or terraces. Some of the negativity on here is just ridiculous and hysterical. 4
Popular Post Bossman Blessed It Posted 5 August 2018 Popular Post Posted 5 August 2018 The most high-profile player we signed before the season we won the league was Gokhan Inler - as a replacement for Cambiasso essentially. Kante was a completely unknown quantity who didn't even get a pre-season with us. Nathan Dyer on loan from Swansea was seen as about as good as we could get. Point being, high-profile transfers have never really worked out too well for us, especially in recent years. The young, hungry squad we have now is far more preferable than what we had this time last year. We've made improvements. 5

Guest Chocolate Teapot Posted 5 August 2018 Posted 5 August 2018 Unless we pull two rabbits out the hat it's been a shambles. The way we recruit managers should give you an indication of how we buy players....

HarryDee8 Posted 6 August 2018 Posted 6 August 2018 I personally think puel will get sacked. Hes just wants to play youth - whichbisnt a bad thing. But you need stars in your team and we havent got enough of them!

Christ. End of last season, what did we need? CB, RB, CAM, GK (at a minimum) and a "replacement" for Riyad. We have covered all of those bases except from Riyad. In which, we're never ever ever going to replace him. Ever. Those saying: "We need a big name signing!!!!" - we're Leicester City. "Big name" signings don't work for us. Akinbiyi - big money. Beckford - biggish name at the time. Slimani - big money, highly rated. We've had a productive window. And who says we're done?
