I would have took anything after languishing in the lower reaches of the championship for years.

Our title win was a one off and in my mind whilst magnificent, it sort of in a strange has impacted on our development of the club, we almost got side tracked.

I believe we are now back on course, we are buying players in a better age range, in the right areas, we are developing the ground and training facilities.

The only short term issue is whether the manager is the right one.

Not happy with the new identity that we are being given on Talkshite this morning.  Looks like they think we must sell anyone to any other Club that comes a knocking. There was even 'a no disrespect to Leicester' comment just now talking about Kasper going to Chelsea.   Are we Chelsea's new feeder Club now?

Yesterday I served a German mother and son on a football pilgrimage around England, proudly showing me pictures from outside the KP. They'd also done the two Manc clubs and were on their way to London for the big 3 down there.

Partly this is just amazing, and partly it's proof that we are more massive than Liverpool...

Of course we're more massive than Liverpool, we won the PL.

The Monaco model is something I think we can strive towards realistically, have a training ground to attract some of the best prospects for the first team aswell as u23s, sell to the big clubs and bide our time

suddenly we're booing the team that finished 8th in the Premier League.

I don't condone the booing, but I don't think it needs to mutually exclusive to be happy with here we are as a club i.e. being in the Premier league year after year, but frustrated with the performances on the pitch and saying we could be doing better.

7th place & another European adventure (Aberdeen?) was easily in reach last season and I was gutted we fell away to only finish 9th... But that doesn't mean I'm unhappy with where we are as a club in the big picture and not savouring every moment of being in the top 10...

All TalkShite morons ever do is bum-lick the big clubs. All the teams outside the top six barely get a look in, and when they do it's in relation to one of the top six. Absolute waste of airtime.

I do think booing will be a factor in holding on to the likes of Maguire.

If you're Newcastle and Ashley is killing your club: booing is fine-the players probably agree.

If you're two places lower than you expect to be: boo to make your best players leave. You're sure as hell not going to get rid of the guys scraping into the team...

I would put Wright and Eppiah above most of those.

Tee is the one to watch I'm expecting him to breakthrough this season

I was wondering about Wright, I thought he'd have been included this pre-season as we paid a whack for him and is a creative midfielder. Is he with the U23's in Poland?

The biggest thing for me would be the removal of Rudkin and his jobs for the boys culture that's still rife in our academy. He's still in charge of that and there's been little improvement or changes to how we run our academy, despite the millions we have and the supposed grand plans with facilities. Until that changes, we'll see precious little conveyor belt of talent.

We sign a mixture of strong and powerful youth players often released by other clubs to try and gain us an advantage in the U23 league or we sign players who have already played first team football in League 1 and 2. I'm not saying some of these players can't then make it with us but there's an emphasis on us being near the top of the PL2 as a statement of our success rather than having a proper blueprint of coaching gifted youngsters through the ranks and them going on to the first team. I'm sure some people will argue with me on this, but the academy I have a fair amount of knowledge on and I'm not impressed with it. We can have a £100m state of the art facility for our club but you can also put lipstick on a pig and it'll still be a fcukin pig.

When we had one of the world's best right wingers. This season will be undoubtedly more difficult.

Didn't hurt Liverpool when Curtinho left - in fact they were better.

Haha stop it, please. They had 3 exceptional attacking forwards and a revitalised Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Indeed. Just saying it seemed to bring the team together when he left, The ox is a great example, everyone just seemed to play out of their skins post Curtinho. I'm hoping for the same effect for us.

Would be nice. Amartey could be the next Michael Essien.

Issues are that Neville and Rudkin won’t be leaving any time soon, meaning they’ll continue with the same culture you’ve mentioned. I think hiring Macia was a step in the right direction and away from this culture, perhaps a sign of things to come?

Hopefully for the new training ground we invest in some new coaches to go with it, it’s like giving your grandad an iPad. I’m hoping we start to show a bit more ambition and in terms of signing promising talent but even then it’s hard to compete with the big boys so early on.

We have to sack Puel before any good happens. The longer Puel stays the longer he starts to do what Mark Hughes did to Stoke. Kills the identity, kills the team spirit, sleepwalks towards relegation.

I'm someone's grandad and never needed an incontinence pad....ever.

I dislike no longer having that underdog mentality we used to. Summed it up for me when Susan Whelan said that we were favourites against Sevilla in the CL. That mindset creeps into the wider fanbase and suddenly we're booing the team that finished 8th in the Premier League.

Indifferent about the style of football we're playing as long as it's mildly exciting.

I agree with you about having a complacent and entitled mindset, but we can't have it both ways can we? You can't improve year on year and still be the underdog.

We had an underdog mentality because we were an underdog. We aren't anymore.

Fine... that is the price we pay

We aren't viable competitors to the top six, their revenue is four or five times the size of ours.

If we're happy to accept half the price from abroad rather than sell to them we'll get overtaken by the other 13 clubs in the PL.

Our realistic goal long term should be to try and be the best of the rest and compete with Everton, West Ham, etc. Any ambitions higher than that is pie in the sky stuff. It's great to have ambition but why should we expect to be overtaking clubs whose income is 500% more than ours?

In 2016/17 we apparently turned over 233m. Discounting the 70m CL money (a one-off) leaves 163m. Man Utd are the biggest earners at 581m about 250% more that LCFC.

I believe we ranked about 10th on this basis. West Ham, Everton and Southampton earned more, plus of course the usual 6.

Considering where we were this time 10 years ago, I’m not complaining at all. I’m bloody loving it! After we went down to league 1, we could have easily became a Coventry. Can’t wait to see what the next 10 seasons will bring!
