Hamza is probably keeping his existing number.  Do not read into this very much it is just a shirt selling initiative and nothing else.  Same for DJ and Elder most probably.

Going to be a bit annoyed if Choudhury goes out on loan, been better then Iborra in pre-season and did well when coming in at the back end of last year. A loan to a prem club would have been decent for him and would have agreed with it if he would get first team football, but surely now only Championship clubs would be in for him which I think he is too good for? Could end up stifling his development.

No Kapustka (who just missed being registered as an under 21 by days.Darn December birthdays.) Either he is going to be loaned out, or play in our reserves, which given what happened during his last loan, might not be a bad idea. Still, depending on who they ship out before September, he could end up on the final squad list -- Josh Gordon and some other older player on the U23's was listed for the first part of the season last, even without squad numbers (although they were taken off after the January window.)

I think you’re underestimating the standard of the championship. Sending him to a championship club where he would play full games every week would only be a good thing

Some simple maths...

 

Under 21's don't count to the 25 man squad. Anyone born on or after 01/01/1997 is U21. Only Benkovic is U21 in that list.

 

There are 29 players on the list (including Caglar who is >21). If we take off Benkovic, there are 28 players over 21 for a 25 man squad.

 

I think... I'll check their ages again, but I think I am correct.
