What’s everyone’s thoughts on Elder? 

 

I’ve thought he’s looked quite solid and seems like an intelligent footballer. You can tell by his positioning on the pitch he knows what he is doing. 

 

Whereas his competitor Chilwell is very inconsistent and makes mistakes. 

 

What is his future with us? Imo the only way I see him featuring for us is by going on loan for 6 months then replacing Fuchs in January if he goes to America early.

Looks like he has some potential. Send him to Uncle Nigel for 6 months so he can develop more

He looks decent but behind Chilwell. He probably needs to move for the good of his career

I tell you difference between Elder and Chilwell.

 

Elder realises his limitations, he doesn’t go haring forward with no support. He probably hasn’t got the turn of speed to make it in the PL. He’s happy to play the simple game. 

 

Chilwell has about as much footballing brain as Schlupp. He knocks the ball ahead of himself and expects to run on it. He whacks aimless balls sometimes down the line. If he had some of the intelligence Elder does you’d have a competent player

He was playing at a higher level with Wigan last season. I think he's good enough for the first team squad.

He hasn't done his chances any harm this preseason. Chilwell needs to up his game or he'll find himself out of the team.

This would make some sense, give him championship game time in a competitive team to help bring him on for next year

Just scrolled through their timeline and looks like a load of rumour round-ups basically. Not convinced at all. I'm not convinced Ghezzal is coming either.

Been impressed with him. Seems like a knowledgable player who does things simply. He will get better, loan out for a season to see how he develops. 

 

Has also had a good pre season.

I can’t see him being played much for us this season so another loan move would do him good.

 

He’s 23 now so needs to be playing week in week out. With a bit more experience of league football we might have a half decent player on our hands. 

 

Would take what the bisnos brothers say with a pinch of salt. Another one that is good at finding things out on the internet and trying to pass it off as their own.

Contract is up in a year so loaning him out without him signing another one isn't much use to us.

Quite a few players sign a new contract and then go out on loan, Barnes did the other day. So that’s a possibility.
