I remember just after we signed him a Brighton fan (I think on FT) said that he'd been great for them but just don't let him take penalties.

So when we got our 2nd penalty against Man Utd (winning 4-3) I was a bit dubious.

It was an excellent penalty and so were the others (albeit few) that he took for us. His record and technique was better than Nugent, Mahrez and Vardy.

Thank you Leo! :scarf:

Out of all the players that are "surplus to requirements" that are here he's the only one I don't agree with.

In hindsight we should never have bough Slimani and just carried on with Ulloa. I think he would have been happy enough here if he started the cup games and was a much used used substitute to come on when we needed a goal or someone to come on and hold the ball up and defensive strength at set pieces when we were holding on to a lead.

That night against Atleticio Madrid when he came on when the tie was as good as over and we nearly turned it round. We played 3-4-1-2 with the full backs playing like wingers and Ulloa and Vardy up top with Mahrez just behind. Probably the best defensive team in the world playing so narrow that the full backs had acres of space but Ulloa caused them no end of problems in their compact formation. We needed three goals but had so many chance to go 2-1 up with Leo at the heart of it.

I think he should still be here giving us that option as we have the personnel to go 3-4-1-2 when we need that goal.

Also that penalty versus West Ham, the coolest guy in the stadium. How many moons orbit this man's testicles?

Jeez, I'd rather not think about that.

Ive spent tens of thousands following Leicester over the years and am 100% qualified to give my opinion.

I knew posting a strong opinion that doesnt follow the majority would get a reaction from one or two sensative souls...but calling someones opinion pathetic...especially one formed on facts is ugly.

I fully stand by what I said....Leo gave zero effort once he was 'rewarded' with his new bumper contract!!

What the **** difference does it make that he is a nice guy or kind to people??

What a strange point to make.

Maybe we should sign my nan...she is lovely?!.

You’re 100% not qualified to give your opinion as you’re clearly not well informed about what happened between Leo and the club.

Is there still no announcement about this? It feels a little disrespectful to just leave him out of the squad listing on the site without a word? Also no announcement about the new Assistant Manager I had to watch the match yesterday to find out who it was, as well as probably nothing  on slimani at any point either. Just feels a bit lazy

And I can’t believe you just admitted in public that you’re wasting tens of thousands on a sport you clearly don’t get if you think Leo wasn’t putting in any effort after he signed his new deal.

I also disagree with him, his nan is a right pain. Always holding the queue up in the bank and that...

Well, clubs these days will always remain in second spot with regards to official transfer announcements. Before they're able to approach Social Media, Social Media has already done its job. Individual Twitter accounts especially are so much quicker by leaking the news (I think that holds truth with Musa, Ulloa and Slimani).

But I agree, it's a bit odd for the club not to publish anything, even if you could say they're not willing to go public if it's a 100% certain the player will be leaving.

Pachuca have made it official already.

In their press release, LCFC said deal wasn't finalised until today. I guess they were waiting for FIFA's okay before making an announcement. Here's what Leo said.

Who knows the truth of what happened during that period between Leo and the club really.

Always came across as a class act and his farewell statement just continues that for me.

Previous Arsenal (Argentina) and Leicester forward flushing goals in Mexican soccer

https://filbertway.com/2018/10/12/previous-arsenal-and-leicester-forward-flushing-goals-in-mexican-soccer/

Leo Ulloa left Leicester City for Mexican club Pachuca just before the start of the new season. One of the heroes of the PL winning side two years ago has made a brilliant and fresh start at his new club.

He has so far scored two goals in seven league games, but the form in the cup is one to notice, scoring four in three games, with a great hat-trick to his name in the most recent.

Ulloa scored his first goal for his new club in a Copa MX game v. Celaya, and has since then continued to score pleasantly for his new club.

Ulloa (32) who is an Argentinian used to play for Arsenal in his home country. He had a loan spell last season at Brighton, scoring once in 10 league games with the Seagulls.

When Ulloa joined Leicester City in 2014 for a fee of £7million he became the foxes record transfer signing and the first to break the record once set by Ade Akinbiyi 14 years earlier, paying Wolverhampton £ 5.5millon.

Ulloa scored 18 goals in 86 league appearances for Leicester City, many of those games was as a sub and we all remember him being a regular replacement of Shinji Okazaki during those great days of 2015/16.

The Argentinian who declined a chance to play at international level for Chile, his grandfather was born in that country, has also had spells at Almeria and Castellon in Spain.

Leicester City officially confirmed that Leo Ulloa had joined Pachuca on a permanent contract, but that is with doubt, since a reliable website source of transfer information, transfermarkt.com sees the move as a loan, ending in June 2019.

Now that is curious.

He’s out of contract at the end of June so if he is on loan he’d be a free agent at the end of it, seems an odd thing to do though

Agree with the earlier post in that i dont know why we brought Slimani when Ulloa was just as good.

Would have liked him to have stayed with us to give us another option in attack and was excellent when it came to defending corners.

more people on the pitch than in the stands.

Its the mexican equivalent of a league cup game at home to a crappy championship side.

Pachuca average about 25k in the league.
