I watched the 2015/16 Season Review on Sky for about the third time in the last two weeks this morning.

I love all of those guys for what they did that year. They gave me something beyond my wildest dreams and I’ll be forever grateful. They gave us a season which supporters of a club of this size have no right to.

I still rate Simpson, Morgan and Fuchs. They could do a great job just not necessarily in a team trying to play the way Puel wants.

Thank you to the op. This has been a topic that has been bugging me for a long time. The abuse that Morgan gets is horrific. I think people forget that he has led us to titles, Champions League quarter-finals and picked up personal awards in the process.

Having said that, he should be phased out but there is no reason that he can’t be a squad player.

True.  Good post.  And didn't he play a full uninterrupted calendar year playing some tounament for Jamaica in the off-season?  The man has been colossal and a machine at times.

I think even Wes accepts that he is unlikely to be a starter this season, but I didn't see much wrong with him at Old Trafford, he can still do a job and deserves legend status.

The way some people talk about him you'd think he was the love child of Dennis Wise and Junior Lewis.

Tired of players being called legends.

You can like and praise whomever you want let us like and praise womever we want.

Arthur was a legend though.

But ok to dish it out to Armatey, Chilwell and Gray??  Marvellous.

We shouldn’t constantly get on anyone. For some reason our title-winning captain takes the brunt of it.

Amartey is an absolute liability and doesn’t come close to the status Wes Morgan has at Leicester. Shouldn’t be anywhere near the squad.

Oh - So ok for you to slag off Armatey and call him a liability, but if I ‘dare’ say anything negative about Morgan I get a flea in the ear from you, because of his past achievents?   This totally regardless of how he performs?   Just trying to understand your reasonings.

Of course you can praise any player you want but surely winning the league with Leicester City gives you a Willy Wonka style golden ticket to the legend's hall of fame?

I think that any player deserves the praise or criticism that is appropriate but with the players that have won the Championship with record points, achieved the great escape and then gone on to win the bloomin' league, then they must have banked the goodwill and gratitude of the fans, such that they deserve that extra bit of respect.

Look Pal I do not think any fan would take back anything from the players that achieved so much.  What some people are saying here is, in their opinion some of these players need replacing now as they simply are not good enough.

Personally destroying the younger players miffs me, but I do not come on here accusing others of showing no respect.

Anyhow I am out of this thread now.  Good night Vienna.

Not sure why the tantrum, I am not the person you have been arguing with, but anyway, no one has suggested destroying the young guns and no one has accused you of showing no respect to the old guard.  I was simply saying that those that have achieved greatness with us have that bit extra goodwill in the bank, that's all.

Relax.

It is time to move on.  Every footballer in the World reaches a point when they simply are no longer good enough.  When their deficiencies are exposed on a weekly basis, is the time this so called lack of respect comes into play. This is life.  We all remember the more recent things we witness. The worst scenario with Wes is if Puel repeats the Dragovic farce by not playing Evans and the 2 new CB’s in the next weeks.

Personally, the title winning side will always be hero’s in my eyes. Even Kante, drinky and mahrez will always be hugely respected even if they betrayed us.

morgan, Fuchs and Simpson are no different.

they have been amazing for us in years gone by. What they have achieved with us had prolonged their Leicester careers this far when realistically we should have relegated them to back up sooner and brought in first team replacements. They say there’s no sentiment in football but that’s wrong at our club, though it seems only to be when it suits the owners - sacking ranieri for example.

Id really like Wes to do his coaching badges, retire and become part of the backroom staff - even if it is with the u18 or u23 squad to start with.

fuchs is still good backup, he’s a better full back than chilwell in my eyes and we made a mistake not bringing in a quality left back this summer. Though with Puel wanting more attacking fullbacks I do understand the reason for him and Simpson being phased out.

Its quite simple the players being disrespected won the prrmier league. Armatey Gray

and Chillwell never will.It is touch and go if any of these will make it as mid table Prem players or above.

The legends

Now how do I say this while still being foxestalk friendly content.

They were amazing players that gave us the best year of our lives.

Their legacy will be remembered for decades by all sports fans in the world.

BUT

They are paid to play at a certain level and to achieve what is expected of them.

They are always susceptible to criticism regardless of what they have done for our club.

They will eventually be to old to be effective at this level in which case it is not their fault for ageing.

Saying that don't be to harsh on them.

Wes Morgan & Danny Simpson have more or less said in press conferences a year or two ago that they didn't expect to be a starters for much longer.

They are professional footballers that are capable of realising when they haven't played so well.

Most of them never dreamed of winning a title. It's their biggest achievement of their entire career.

So they love the club just as much if not more then us.

Bear this in mind when you want to have a go at them.

Amartey has done well at right-back for us in the past. Just because he's made one mistake in the opening minute of the opening match doesn't suddenly turn him into a "liability".

Fickle much?

Seems to me people are keen on slating players for the sake of it even if the team performs well on the whole, so they can have something to moan about regardless.

Meanwhile, "legends" become untouchable, excempt from criticism, just because some fans would like others to believe so.

Chilwell is a quality left-back and will get even better with time.

And you not acknowledging Simpson's failings going forward pretty much sums up how little you know about this squad.

SLB.  BTW you forgot to mention it was Morgan's wayward pass that got Armatey yellow carded.

Of course the fan base (in the main) respects the legends (not many more than I who waited 35 years to witness the miracle)…. It gets a little ‘cringy’  when someone calls out a failing or bad performance and gets a quote and a ‘don’t disrespect the legend’ post for a guaranteed 20+ likes…. Don’t disrespect the legends, but, they’re not out of bounds for any criticism….

Just about every supporter and follower over the age of, say, 42....that's quite a lot, 60 odd years (very odd) in my case ;)
