Guest Mee-9 Posted 24 February 2019 Posted 24 February 2019 Sarri should have walked onto that pitch and dragged him off.

TheUltimateWinner Posted 24 February 2019 Posted 24 February 2019 Disgusting that. Yes it’s shitty that you’re not trusted for penalties and probably could have been handled better by Sarri saying before the game ‘if it goes to pens Willy is coming on’ BUT you never undermine your manager like that. Should be dropped from the team for a long long time.

Fox92 Posted 24 February 2019 Posted 24 February 2019 I'd rather Caberallo be in goal for pens, he's usually half decent at them.
H.a.r.r.y Posted 24 February 2019 Posted 24 February 2019 I'd rather have Danny ward in for penos than Kasper do you think he'd lose it?

Then the ref stops the game until the stewards come and physically carry Kepa off the pitch. The ref is the absolute authority, you can't have a player hold the game to ransom, he's gotta be stronger.
Guest ttfn Posted 24 February 2019 Posted 24 February 2019 There’s an important lesson in there for all clubs, but especially ours, about what happens when you let the players run the dressing room.

I’m no Moss fan but I thought he did ok with what was an absolutely absurd situation.
TiffToff88 Posted 24 February 2019 Posted 24 February 2019 Sarri was clearly inspired by Martin O'Neill's Zeljko Kalac substitution. Guarantee if he brought Caballero on, Higuain would have shinned one in from 25 yards out in the last minute of added time

It's up to him to quicken things up if they're time wasting and he did that. If Chelsea can't control their players then that's their fault.

The board hadn't gone up and the substitution hadn't been officially confirmed. I thought he handled the situation well by going over to the Chelsea bench and asking if they were going to make the sub, or whether he could continue the game.

foxes21 Posted 24 February 2019 Posted 24 February 2019 Imo this is why you need leaders in the team. I’m convinced the reason we didn’t crumble from the pressure in 15/16 was not only because we were better than everyone else but we also had about 7 players in the first team who could have been captain. In addition to that we had experienced heads like Schwarzer, King & Ulloa on the bench. On top of that we even had Inler in reserve who has captained his club and country. Having these type of leaders around on a day to day basis is motivation in itself to perform. Currently, it’s great we’re promoting youth but we need a good blend. We need more leaders and captain material players to show the youth how it’s done and get them through the rough patches.

Not just that, they were all humble enough to know that the buck stopped with Ranieri and Wes. All well and good having many leaders but you need to respect the authority that your captain and manager have. Worth noting that Azpilicueta was nowhere to be seen when all this was going on.

Will1981 Posted 24 February 2019 Posted 24 February 2019 Disgraceful from Kepa, Sarri should have subbed off one of the outfield players for Caballero after he refused to go off.
