You have to hope that a few of these players are nowhere near the first XI, come the next tournament.

Henderson, Dier, maybe Stones, Sterling, if he can't realise his potential and step it up at international level...

Unsurprisingly, I overlooked Barclay.

From Scholes, Lampard and Gerrard to Henderson, Dier and Barkley. Horrific midfield.

I'm surprised that generation plus dont get slated more.

They had the talent to win tournaments but Ferdinand/Lampard, etc didn't want to help each other incase they took their newly found info to their respective rivals clubs. It's bit ego heavy and selfish of them, particularly when you consider the fierce rivalry between Barca and Real didnt stop them getting on to help Spain winning 3 major tournaments in a row.

I don’t think I have seen dier have a good game. There must be a better option in midfield than him. Don’t get what it is that makes him a regular for England and spurs

I used to like watching the raw Ross Barkley even though he was like a dog in the park with a tennis ball running round in circles but now....although it's been said that he's matured and is more thoughtful now I see him as blander and less instinctive.
