Tributes

Just thought we could do with a thread for some ideas as to how we as fans might pay tribute to our Chairman and show solidarity to the family and club.  Also, experiences of fans going down to the ground today.

 

Personally, I would love to hear the 'One of our own' song adapted for Vichai and ringing out at our next home game.

I'd like to see either a statue or a stand renamed in his honour (preferably both).

 

For someone with no connection to the town and club to do more than those of us with a connection takes a special kind of person. He will be a loss to the county and the club.

Maybe, but I thought it would be a nice touch as our owners obviously hail from overseas.  It would be a way of saying that we have taken them to our hearts.

This, but adapted so that 32,000 don’t have to attempt pronouncing his last name.

Name the training ground after him, it was his vision after all. A statue too, funded by the fans as a thank you.

Think someone needs to discuss memorial/tribute ideas to The Foxes Trust, Fans Comittee to and properly go through all the options formally.

I was more thinking of personal gestures, such as the shirts we have seen, whats going on at the ground etc.  Things that we can all do.

Vichai treated his employees as family.

 

Top will now wake up every morning to the slow, sickening reality that his dad died in a helicopter crash outside our stadium.

 

His dad raised this city to global fame, helped the city's sick, improved the city's education and gave us all our best memories.

 

Vichai did not have to donate money to the Hospitals Charity. He did not have to donate money to University of Leicester's medical department. He did not have to leave whiskey glasses and a bottle for grievers to toast their lost loved ones.

 

But he did.

 

Top is a fox. He is in our family. But nothing can replace what he has lost

 

But we can show the bond between the people in this city and his family goes beyond ownership, money and beyond football. And that the bond will strengthen and grow because we will grow it.

 

Be it a memorial garden maintained by the fans, be it continued help and voltuneering for Thai health care and education, be it a statue, be it a ritual incorporated into the matchday, be it a symbol.

 

This requires effort, hard work, researching and reaching out for help. But Vichai, Top and his family took us from potential ruin to

 

 

It's the least we can do, for our own grief and for Top's family's grief and out of continued respect and support for the family.

 

I'll do some research into commissioning a statue, since lots seem to want that, later and update this post/start a new one. I wouldn't mind looking into it there are any Thai charities we could support.
