Man City H Post Thread 2-1

Liverpool are no better.

The pair of them manage to get away with a lot of yellow cards staying in the referee's pocket.

It's where they commit them, opposition's defensive third. Firmino did about 6 of those when Liverpool came here back in September, Gundogan several times today. Why there's no cumulative fouls from the referees is baffling. Speaking of which, does the foul throw law just not exist anymore? That right back must have taken more than one with one foot off the floor

100%.

So many tactical fouls yet again going unpunished. It’s a wonder any side ever launches a successful counter attack against them.

And Delph has to know by now that ploughing into his opponents, winning the ball and then planting his studs halfway up their leg is not acceptable any more. It was a near carbon copy of his sending off at Wigan in the Cup last year.

Wasn’t just the fouls the way Silva, Bernardo went down without being touched went unpunished also, but what do you expect from players from sides like Man City they seem to get away unpunished so much !

Man City are struggling because they have don’t their foul machine in Ferdinandinho available.

Also I know they were down to 10 men for half of it but the way we handled the time after going 2-1 up is immense.

People can point to the counter-attacking nature of our display and say that it had little to do with what Puel has been working towards but the way we kept the ball so intelligently for large spells of

injury time is the product of 14 months of coaching a group of players how to pass and move for each other rather than just panicking and lumping it forwards. Even Simpson made a couple of good passes.

Impressed with the discipline as we gave away very few free kicks in anything like range.

Allbrightons goal simple but excellent  started his run backed off and out to give space and then went again getting the run on the defender and good deep ball from Vardy

Second was a dreadful corner but  who cares ?

This something that really anoys me.In any game you see fowl throws and nothing is ever done about it.

Morgan looked ferocious closing down Aguero in the second half. Chelsea & Man City might not have been on top of their game these last couple of matches but we've got something about us and it's clicking together well, making and taking chances which werent happening a month ago.

Hope we can push for Europe in the second half of the season now, we're half way through and with Everton & a turbulent ManU as the main competition. If we can get a couple of training dummies/loaners out the door then see what we can add the middle or out wide. Biggest potential problems are obviously if Vardy, Wilf or now Ric get injured; Puel has shown great ability in giving Hamza a chance and rewarding him for confident and capable performances, it's like we've signed another player in mid-December

This is the time when Mahrez should have shown his worth, he's gone missing in action, sorry but he simply is not mentally strong enough for a top side

Get Riyad back!

FULLY AGREE MAHREZ WASTE OF MONEY

Really enjoyed it today, had better mince pies  , but came away from a home game happier than I have been in a long time.

I never thought Chilwell would make it at left back and earlier this season I said exactly the same about Ricardo at right back. They've both proved me massively wrong.

Fantastic performance from every one of them.
