fox in notts Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 Can not understand. Mendy has a shocker agaist the saints. Ndidi has been poor for weeks. Both still get in. Thoughts
Xen Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 Choudhury should have played, but for all we know he might not have been fit enough for the full 90. Other than that, we don't really have any other options. We're woefully light of players (who are good enough) at CM.
Ric Flair Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 Just a horrible pairing, I cant face much more of them. This is Puel's biggest failure, unforgivable to allow Iborra and Silva's careers here end for these clowns.
coolhandfox Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 Both prone to a mistake and don't seem to be able to sense danger, and can't play simple passes under pressure.
Woodsey1727 Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 What I don't understand is why we use 4-3-3 for away games and against the top 6, then to use it against Southampton at home and then go with an attacking 4-2-3-1 away to wolves. Would have been better to have the formations switched
Legend_in_blue Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 Puel binned the competition. Rightly or wrongly.

Our first choice pairing are so limited in possession. Shocking
Bert Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 N’Didi can’t pass and for some reason has stopped closing down. Period. Mendy very rarely goes forward and slows us down. Enabling them to get back in shape.
La-li-lu-le-lo Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 Together they stink. N’didi isnt a bad player, but he needs some time out. I’d like to see some changes, but what options do we have, because Mendy is a shithouse!

Realist Guy In The Room Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 They’re such a shit pairing, it actually hurts seeing them on the team sheet and knowing we’re in for an afternoon of crap passing, misjudged attempts at headers and getting caught in possession. I cant handle seeing them anymore. Mendy played one good game and everyone was ‘oh I knew there was a player in there all along’. He’s crap and between him and Puel, they’ve dragged Ndidi down to a level of performance that is simply unacceptable.
fox in notts Posted 19 January 2019 Author Posted 19 January 2019 Oh yes silva. What happened there.:
FoxinNotts Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 It should be Mendy OR Ndidi to partner Choudhury imo. Silva should definitely make the bench. Disappointing how he’s been frozen out.
Bigboss204 Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 Puel is persisting with 1 hour ago, Ric Flair said: Just a horrible pairing, I cant face much more of them. Puel is persisting with it either through arrogance or blindness. Get him out of this football club.

I guarantee you, Ndidi will be a different player under another manager with a better box to box midfielder alongside him. He's getting pelters this season and rightly so, but he has the capacity to improve significantly.
SheppyFox Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 I’ve been whole heartedly behind Puel. However his advancements and development of youth for players like Chilwell, Pereira, Hamza for example has been undone by regression in players like Ndidi & Maguire. I’m also getting very annoyed he’s not bringing anyone in and seems happy with that. He is beginning to frustrate me.
Guest MattP Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 They are just both really average. Mendy is meh and if we can get decent money for N'Didi then sell whilst they clearly don't really he's incapable of passing forwards.

Don't get me wrong, we were unlucky today. But his experience in big games, and let's not pretend he doesn't have that, might have been valuable. N'Didi, for all his strengths, is very young and inexperienced. Mendy can't do it himself. What would the harm have been including a European Championship winner?
cal21212121 Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 Ndidi needs a leader along side him to tell him where to be, when to sit, when to press, who to pass to etc, he looked better with Iborra because he has that type of leadership, but we got rid. I'd imagine Silva could have a similar positive effect on Ndidi, too bad Puel hasn't given him a chance. As for Mendy, I know he had a couple of very impressive performances at the start of the season, but other than that he has been poor and those performances have gone from bad to worse.
splinterdream Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 I've got an idea, lets play without 2 cdms's, infact lets try 4-4-2
fazzyfox Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 They have contributed to those unexpected wins vs Chelsea, Man City and Everton with tackles and basic water carrying work, it's when we play lower placed teams at home that they become too regressive to our momentum and appear limited. I hear the argument that it helps the full backs bomb forward but we have an imbalance where four players (full backs and wingers) probe the edge of the box looking for targets whilst only two (Vardy &no 10) ever enter the box in central positions. I'd love to see Loftus-Cheek or Shelvey here instantly improving our passing and goal / assist threat, financed perhaps by sales of Silva, Slimani and even Mendy on top of the Iborra money too.
fox in notts Posted 19 January 2019 Author Posted 19 January 2019 I loved Iborra. But to slow for prem. Shame good luck to him.
Tuna Posted 19 January 2019 Posted 19 January 2019 Baffling to think we started the season with Silva in midfield at Old Trafford and Mendy in the reserves.
