It's a sign of the times!

I think blogging/vlogging/reporting etc in general is great, it's a potential start in a media career that you want or just a hobby - about any subject. Obviously theres no issue in it, however what I don't get is the constant use of mobile phones at live events. Not just football but anywhere, especially gigs.

I was sat behind 4 lads at the Palace game and they spent at least 80% of the game on their phones, recording everything (not vlogging or commentating on it) just recording it!? Just put the phone down and enjoy the event, I don't get it. But then again life seems to be lived through a device these days for many.

ONLY 80% of their time on the phone?!!! Usually it's all match!

I don't get it either. I watch a lot of sports events and it really is amazing how many people are glued to their phones instead of enjoying and watching the event. Why spend a lot of money to go and then don't even bother watching? Maybe it's so they can take that selfie to show off to their friends that they were there?!!!

As someone who can’t get to many games (these days I’m lucky if I get to more than 3 a season) I actually quite like these vlogs from the match. I appreciate how annoying it can be for some people but on the other hand, when I was living in Cape Town during the back end of the title winning season I was desperate to feel more involved than was possible from 6000 miles away, and videos from matches really, really helped.

So keep doing what you’re doing - take the criticism as constructive advice and keep improving.

I don't mind them. Would probably find it annoying if it was directly in front of me but then again I would pull faces behind them lol.

As Urban mentioned above, some people will find these types of videos much more engrossing than a highlights package. whilst I wont subscribe I do wish you well. If you are able to make money from it etc then fair play. We've missed a trick in all the youtube madness

I am sorry but this is cringeworthy, maybe I am getting old but surely there is not an actual interest in this kind of thing. I will never understand this YouTube generation (I am 33 even though I sound 60!).

What’s with these Youtubers and speaking 100 mph? Not even finishing the word he’s on before starting the next one and excitedly shouting at me.

Not so much a critique of this guy because it’s learned behaviour. YOU WHATSUP GUYZ

I know the feeling, but there are some serious sums to be made from this. I have worked with YouTube influencers before as I once worked for a company making sports video games and reaching out to key influencers was an important part of our strategy. Some of these kids are making 100K a year from a very modest subscription base and sponsored content. Many people are millionaires from it. One guy I worked with was 19 and pulling that sort of money and whilst you might question the appeal, I found myself questioning my life choices instead! lol

That said some YouTube content around football is very good. The United Stand with Mark Goldbridge is quite well handled, and I think there's room for something similar for Leicester to be honest. Our match threads are essentially "watch-alongs" anyway.

If I was 19 and not nearly 40 I'd be on there trying to rinse it... sadly I think the days of me appealing to the youtube generation are long gone.

Wouldn't mind trying to do an Ashens type thing where it's just your hands and a grotty old sofa on show. :D

I would say getting likes on social media is more important than the unique experience of watching and supporting your home team to many now.

I dont think this replicates the authentic matchday experience.

I cant hear anyone blaming Richie Wellens and i cant smell the BO ridden man in front of me

BIO? You're lucky, I spent a whole season behind a fella we called "Cabbage man" many seasons ago, let's just say every time we scored it was a double edged sword.

i agree, i think these youngsters just see youtube as like tv these days where they can get a bit of fame just by recording themselves doing an utterly ordinary everyday thing. i dont see the appeal. Ive not looked but i bet theres someone on youtube who reviews breakfast cereal and how he eats it, with 100k subscribers. I'd rather watch the game and chat to my old man like i always have, than talk to a phone. But I'm 34, and probably too old to understand it :p

You'd be very surprised as to what works. What's great about digital platforms like YouTube is they allow you to find your audience and interact with them very easily. Look at FoxesTalk, it engages a community of Leicester supporters actively on a daily basis and many of the contributors from here are from different countries, different walks of life and of different ages, yet we all have a shared interest. You don't have to target young people, you can target people around the same age and I bet you'd be surprised at who would find it interesting. Of all of the people on FoxesTalk, I have a feeling you'd be very good in a content creation / support role. You make lots of good posts and can see both points of view, etc. Look at Robbie from Arsenal Fan TV as an example. He started off as just a fan, but now has essentially a media empire through his own hobby. Some people don't like his channel, but having met him in person I can say that Robbie himself is actually a genuine fan.

It's very easy to knock things like this and be dismissive, but another way of looking at it is an opportunity.

Basically what I am saying is when is the FoxesTalk podcast starting so we can see / hear you and Ric Flair arguing about Puel every week? lol

We need to give it an edge... like doing shots every time Ric slates Rudkin or something.
