From winning the league to this .

Sad times are ahead

We peaked and saw the peak for ourselves. Never will this happen again.

Depressing, but we've completed football.

He's been poo this season, as was to be expected. Relying on a 38 year old striker whilst paying him £140,000 a week isn't his fault though.

I don't have to explain anything to you.

This forum is about opinions.

If you don't like a particular point of view, you can read past it.

I'm not here, to write a thesis about player fitness, energy levels, tactics, system performance, individual capacity, and whatever else.

Explain to me then why we only started creating chances in the 2nd half and put the ball in the back of the net as soon as Daka came on? A man who is poor technically but is actually of a decent age to play football and is physically close to his prime?

Daka having a "prime" is quite a funny concept though

Time for Vardy to move on. Always a legend, going to miss prime Vardy.

He played his part in the Championship last season to get us back. So grateful to have had him represent our club for so long with all those fantastic memories. Always welcome at our club but it's time he leaves to another situation that will play to his strengths and stage of his career. Wherever that might be, will always cheer him on!

JVWith his ego and clout in the dressing room he has seen off enough managers now. Time to part ways and start a fresh with a full rebuild

Nail on Head ........We need a to get a few of the youngsters in the first team.No point in having a world class training ground if we don't.Love JV,but you don't win games on sentiment and to be honest the whole midfield can go as well!

Said it yourself it’s a forum, all I’m asking is why your opinion is Vardy (who’s touching 40) is still the best option to play up top for us on 140 bags a week. If you don’t want to answer that’s fine but it’s becoming obvious to me that it’s time for us to part ways with a club legend.

Indeed, a shame he didn't leave on a relative high still with his fellow title winning teammate Albrighton at the end of last season really rather than having had to be a failing part of this wretched one but having the benefit of hindsight would be priceless and all that.

He's still our top scorer and has 10 goal involvements (7g+3a) out of the 27 PL goals we've scored. That's almost 40%. Not many players hitting those numbers.

That's quite true... but we've netted 2 goals is it in past 2 months... so his ability isn't really paying dividends... love JV, but time waits for no man... exception being Messi, maybe...

He’s not on this much anymore though surely?

Why would you hope he goes to Saudi?

If you like a player, going to Saudi should sour your feelings towards him. Wrexham are just Wrexham after all, they’re not particularly controversial or disrespectful to normal people.

He will earn a lot of money in Saudi to finish off his career. We could play Wrexham if they go up. Imagine if he scored against us which he probably would. I don't have anything against Wrexham.

No other striker in our budget will have any impact, in this team. No through balls, no dynamic interplay.

If we play the right way, he is lethal. Still plenty left in Vardy.

I’m sorry but you are so deluded.

He isn’t stretching defences or pressing.

He holds way too much sway in the dressing room now for his impact on the pitch.

Time to start again.

He will always be a legend at the club ... but you can clearly see from his body language his time here is over... and best remember him for the great times rather  than what we have seen this season

From the last few games it’s quite clear that players aren’t passing to him. His reaction to being subbed yesterday said to me he’s using these last few games to say goodbye, and I think it’s probably time (though tempted to say he can do a job in the Championship, but on a fraction of his current wage).

Loved this man too bits through the years, some truly outstanding memorable memories.  Shithousery too, all will be missed. Watching him yesterday it was sad to see.  He should have retired with grace at the end of last season gone out on an high with promotion.

He, was very poor yesterday.  It is quite clear his legs have gone.  ]

How, the club can prevail with an ageing  beloved striker I don't know.  He does need to retire.  If, he is offered another years extension, which he shouldn't be, the

board will have truly lost the plot.  (With Rudkin you never know though).

On the basis that there were 27 goals and 23 assists ( 4 penalties ) that’s  50 goal involvements so JV  has been involved in a 20% . Still not too shabby but the low number of goals scored distorts massively

On Vardy, if he took a substantial reduction in wages, who would be inclined to keep him?

I know it goes deeper than money, certainly if his "influence" in the negative sense is to be believed, but I cant help but feel he still has something to offer in a playing capacity? Certainly in the Championship.

I don't think we can rely on him solely, he's just not that kind of player that can do 90 minutes twice a week, but wouldn't he be a decent option still?

Legend of the club and not his fault at all that the club have woefully recruited to try and get a replacement but he's really hindered us recently.

Missed some easy chances in a few games, not that It would have made any difference in the end result.

He dosen't press anymore, he dosen't run the channels and is not really much of a focal point. It's not his fault as he's 38 and coming to the end of his wonderful career but he's so far beyond it now.

Needs to retire/move on.

He was managed properly last season. Almost a bit part until February/ March when it got serious and he stepped up.

He started well this season but clear for months his legs and touch have gone. To be fair, he needed legs around him and having Ayew and Reid hindered him as well as the team.

Unless he takes a huge pay cut and the next manager makes it clear he will be used sparingly, we need to move on. We need a Vardy-lite from ten years ago, not this version.
