If Rodgers thinks he's good enough then that works for me. Less than a month left in the window. We'll see

We have enough midfielders, we need a winger and a striker imo

We definitely do need a winger and or a striker but I'm not sure we have enough CM's.

We finished last year playing 3 in midfield. Maddison, Tielemans and Ndidi. So assuming we stick with that, we have Hamza, Mendy, James, and King as back up. The latter two are not good enough for a squad place any more. Mendy would do a job in Ndidi's role, as would Hamza who could maybe replace Youri or Madders but it would change the dynamic of the team as he isn't like for like.

Not to mention, Ndidi probably isn't going to make the start of the season given AFCON, so lefts say we replace him with Hamza. We will literally have Mendy covering 3 CM roles, Two of which are attacking no.8 type positions.

You won't see me slag kingy off. He may not be good enough for us now but he should never be slagged off.

Well snotty, the name came up again in the Summer Targets thread from an ITK and we currently benefit from some Glasgow based sources who tend to find out stuff before we do but don’t look to post here without prompting.

I have no concrete information and this post is based purely on conjecture but I live in Glasgow and every single Celtic fan I have spoken with think it's pretty much nailed on that he'll come to us and have since Rodgers moved.  X

I've heard similar too for months.  However, I think it's been left too late in the day now, if the board sold him now there would be a full on mutiny and I don't think they would be prepared to suffer that given the fans are already on their back due to lack of spending.  I might very well end up with egg on my face but if this was going to happen I think it would have had to have happened much earlier in the window.

Yeah, i'd be surprised but likewise Tierney is another who surely you can't let leave now?

And do you think he would be a good buy for us?

He's a bit different, we've already spent £3.5m this window on a LB which says to me he's Tierney's replacement as we don't tend to spend that sort of money on back-up players.

Tbh all the Tierney stuff has really caught me by surprise this window as I thought out them all he'd be the last one to go this summer but it seems the club are prepared to do business if his valuation is met (£25-30m up-front) and it's then down to him to decide.

If he does leave I really hope he doesn't go to those penny pinching, shithouses Arsenal.  Napoli strongly interested also by all accounts and may see them make their move once the transfer domino starts to take effect over in Italy.  Latest one in the last few days is that Spurs are after him too and plan to sell Rose and replace him with Tierney.

Yeah he'd be a great player for you guys, he's such a good technical footballer and is the ideal type of midfielder for a Rodgers side.  When we play in Europe against the real top sides he's the one that always stands out as he's so technically good and so aware of what's going on round about him.  Has no obvious weakness in his game and can do everything to a good standard.  He's also very versatile and can play the 6, 8 or 10 role in midfield all equally effectively.
