Just finished watching, Football's Financial Shame: The Story of the V11 that aired on BBC tonight and is available to stream via iPlayer. Noticed a few former players on there and extremely saddened to hear the story and impact on them.

I'm at a loss to begin to parse that. I could understand some kind of financial agreement. 

Rock and a hard place, It's possible, seeing that it was a late move that he had the choice of no games for Brighton or a few for Chelsea plus getting himself known which wont happen not playing for Brighton

 

Being under contract is not helping him.

I actually met him on a flight to Spain about this time last year and he told me straight up that he’d been struggling mentally so I hope it works out for him.

Fair play to him. He clapped us at the end, would have been easy to go straight down the tunnel given the stick he was getting.

Chilwell was a free transfer apparently, so nothing goes to us

If it was a, for example, €5m transfer fee we'd get the 5% (€250k)

Yeah I read up on it. How on earth can they be allowed to just do a "free transfer" when he's still under contract? I thought I read you could transfer between multi ownership clubs but only for "fair market value"? Absolutely stinks doesn't it.
