I met him too, in 2002, and he could not have been more of a hero if he'd tried. Would not discuss himself, we discussed his next door neighbours from Leicester, as their grandson went to school with me.

 

It helped that I'm a musician from Leicester called John...he lamented the LSO in 1999 a little, as the 'A' team wasn't playing, so some of the section principals weren't involved, my former teacher included.

My god…. That’s mental…  she is the singer on one of my all time favourite soul tracks…. Always assumed she was American!

 

Lyrics are great “I dig my mans company but three or four more would do…. just for variety”

 


EDIT- would love to get a proper copy of that picture…. Would frame it and put it up!

Pretty sure Perry was only wearing West Ham gear because she was married to Russell Brand. Could have found someone who's actually a fan or from the area. That said I'm liking the mock up.

I’m quite annoyed that Daniel Lambert hasn’t made it on to that Beatles cover. One of my favourite historical local people.
