Leicester Images That Precede Unfortunate Events

The unfortunate event being for Arsenal :D

They took that team picture after their 2-2 win against us in Feb 2016. Think Ozil captioned it 'best team' on Twitter. Lot of Arsenal fans thought they'd won the league.

Then we went on to win the fvcking thing without losing again in the season. They went on to lose against Utd and Swansea in their next 2 games :D

Thanks for that. I've found I'm getting more and more plastic since I turned 60!

To be fair to this team Steve Howard was a legend in a dark time as was Oakley. Mcauley was quality and Stearman was a god academy product who only left as we needed the money to sell him. I literally forgot about David Bell.

Yes that certainly backfired on Arsenal. They were celebrating winning the league 2 months too early. I do remind the Gooners of this many times and that that they haven't won the league since 2004!!

I'll raise you with this one:

God that Walsh own goal was incredible. It went about a mile in the air and dropped under the bar couldn't have done it again if he tried.

Likewise! Although tbf the Arsenal fans I know at work have always been pretty decent. They know they're pretty rubbish for their standards right now and like that we went on to win the league. Although it may be because we prevented Spurs from winning it...

So what's the "unfortunate event" and what's the Leicester connection?

1973, Wembley.Shilton dives over Lato's shot.

England out of the World Cup, Poland go to the finals in Germany.

Christ almighty, did Taylor actually make any decent signings? So far ive seen Lewis, Wise and now Akinbiyi. Incredible that one manager managed to sign so many of our worst ever players. These 3 are comfortably top 10 if not top 5!

love kasper but that positioning is very questionable isn't it

Covering the post well...

I never liked doing this as a keeper, I would have a small enough wall so I could stand more or less central and have a clear view of the ball. If the ball goes over the wall and in, it's a great free kick. If it goes round the wall into my sight, I always felt confident I could get there. In Kasper's position, he is never recovering the length of the goal to save that (which inevitably happened).

Ah the good old European coefficient. We did well to ruin it by getting to the quarters. Same stage as, Bayern, Dortmund & Barcelona that season!

Tottenham didn't even get out of their group lol. Then lost to Gent in the Europa League lol

Celtic finished bottom of their CL group lollol

Take note that it was also posted by a Chelsea fan who in that season, finished 10th.

When you look back at some of the dross we had you have appreciate the players we have now. I know we still get a few, Slimani, Silva but overall the standard of players is a lot higher.
