twister Posted 5 October 2019 Posted 5 October 2019 becoming like it was with fergie at united so many soft pens, salah has a million last year that never ever ever gets given down the other end
lee7 Posted 5 October 2019 Posted 5 October 2019 He pulled the play back a couple of times after we had won the ball fairly only to give Liverpool a soft free kick when we was breaking & they had players out of position.
Bazly Posted 5 October 2019 Posted 5 October 2019 Liverpool couldn't give a foul away today - the ref just would't let them.
Riyad_Suarez Posted 5 October 2019 Posted 5 October 2019 I thought that blatant foul on Soyuncü in the lead up to Hamza getting a yellow was as clear as they come. There were plenty of cheap ones too. The last one is just so unfortunate, Albrighton really just needs to stick it in the stands. Very soft.
sdb Posted 5 October 2019 Posted 5 October 2019 The Perez high foot was a killer. Flicks it over VD who's late and crouching, we're like 4 on 2 and the ref absolutely bricks it and blows up
lifted*fox Posted 5 October 2019 Posted 5 October 2019 albrighton should have done better with that and I can see why the ref would give that based on seeing it from his position in real time BUT; you're still giving that after a slow-motion VAR check? get fvcked lol.
don_danbury Posted 5 October 2019 Posted 5 October 2019 i remember the 2 -2 some years back. laughable performance from the ref in that game
Trav Le Bleu Posted 5 October 2019 Posted 5 October 2019 Don't worry, VAR will end all... oh, wait...

There was enough in it to give a foul I think, certainly enough that it's not a "clear and obvious error" (or whatever the term is).
Walshie is God Posted 5 October 2019 Posted 5 October 2019 Var is a joke. Needs scrapping. Refs need some balls. Try female refs. We all know women listen to no one

I think the problem lies in the interpretation of "clear and obvious error". We've all been dumb thinking it meant if the decision is clearly and obviously a bad call then it will be overturned, but I think the big brain society at VAR are asking themselves if the decision was clearly and obviously a bad call from the point of view of the referee at the time. After all, if they can see why he called it then how can the mistake be clear and obvious? That would explain all the upheld decisions this season.
Guest Posted 5 October 2019 Posted 5 October 2019 The Salah push on Soyuncu that led to the Hamza booking.

lifted*fox Posted 5 October 2019 Posted 5 October 2019 i don't get the point of it then. it's just some bitch tool to back up their refs i thought the whole point was to override bad decisions that costs teams points waste of ****ing time

Exactly this. If VAR can’t see it’s a dive (simulation) then we may as well not bother with it.
katieakita Posted 5 October 2019 Posted 5 October 2019 Stream failed at the end so missed most of last 10 minutes must have been a hell of a lot of contact as it appears to have hurt his other ankle
Wolfox Posted 5 October 2019 Posted 5 October 2019 Salah blatant pull on Soyuncu before Choudhury gets the yellow - absolute joke
martyn Posted 5 October 2019 Posted 5 October 2019 2nd half ref was abysmal. Bowed to the pressure being put on him by the supporters. Was always going to give the penalty in that situation. The Perez "high foot" stopping a 3 on 1, missing the blatant push by Salah on Soyuncu, and that one where N'Didi clearly won the ball off VVD who was breaking forward were all ridiculous.
Suzie the Fox Posted 5 October 2019 Posted 5 October 2019 We had a ref? . Oh you mean the biased cvnt in the black shirt that gave every decision to Liverpool, sorry my mistake. On a serious note, i know my memory is bad but i cannot remember the last time i was this mad after a game, i never expected to win and was super hopeful for a draw BUT to lose in extra time to a blatant dive has destroyed my weekend. Maybe i am exagerating and many will reply that Albrighton was at fault, and i wont disagree with the fact he made contact but what the hell is the point of 3 guys sitting in a freaking room trying to make the game better and couldnt see that as a dive? Joke of a ref and VAR can get in the bin.
That_Dude Posted 5 October 2019 Posted 5 October 2019 It was a dive but we put ourselves in a bad situation. It's Anfield, huge pressure on the ref who's more likely to give a pen than not. Albrighton should've put the ball out. End of.

Its this that i find unfair and why the words 'big club biased' is often mentioned. I know the ruling is 'clear and obvious' and i get that them be the rules, but surely if VAR was implemented to make it a fairer game then the 3 guys in their man cave could over-rule that decision if they had a better view and could see stuff the ref couldnt... Maybe VAR isnt the problem and the rules are? I dunno but im proper disappointed and delusional right now.
Filbert_Ross Posted 5 October 2019 Posted 5 October 2019 Pen for me. Don’t know why he didn’t just clear it in the first place. 🤷🏻♂️
