The problem is it takes two to tango. Desirable players are disproportionately at competitive clubs, and competitive clubs have very little incentive to sell players in the middle of their season. If you're a second-division side, do you cash out on your stay player in January, knowing it cold cost you a promotion and thus more money than you got in the transfer fee? If you're a first-division side, there's a decent chance you're either competitive for a European spot or close enough to relegation to be paranoid - again, do you risk that huge financial hit? January is an extreme seller's market. That said, I do wish there were at least rumors connecting us to some wide men. Rodgers can't possibly be satisfied with what we have, I wouldn't think.

The best players to target in January are those with release clauses (obvious), not playing regularly for their team (makes you wonder if we'd still want them) or where their contract is expiring in the summer and clubs are more open to recouping something rather than lose them for free in the summer. Players available (feel free to add to it) 1) Thomas Lemar 2) Brahim Diaz 3) Suso 1

This is what big teams do, big up another clubs player in the press or pitch side before buying them (or at least bidding). We all know that Southampton are a selling club and I'm sure European football would be attractive to Ings, who is not getting any younger and this might be one of his last chances for a big move. Or am i clutching at straws here, the transfer would make sense to me at least. Edited 14 January 2020 by Cujek missing word

Ings would be a fantastic player but his injury past concerns me, baring in mind what Southampton shelled out for him i'd not want us to pay any more than £20m and they'd not entertain that so i'd look elsewhere for a Vardy eventual replacement.

les-tah Posted 14 January 2020 Posted 14 January 2020 (edited) The only way i see us signing someone is a Loan with possible option buy in summer if someone is unsettled or not getting game time or something along them lines. Edited 14 January 2020 by les-tah 1

North Leeds Fox Posted 14 January 2020 Posted 14 January 2020 Nathan Ferguson looks like he will be leaving west Brom this month as out of contract in the summer. Could play cb and across the back line. Hes no demiral but a great talent 1

Rodgers has said he prefers a small squad so that kind of versatility would be very useful. 1
FoxinNotts Posted 14 January 2020 Posted 14 January 2020 I’d like to see us get a centre back and a forward/attacking mid/wide attacker in centre back from: Robin Koch Nathan Ake Soloman Kvirkvelia Attacking mid/forward from: Suso Roberto Alvarado Hee Chan Hwang

Popular Post Ric Flair Posted 15 January 2020 Popular Post Posted 15 January 2020 First thing you do about Wingers Club is talk about which winger you want. Many fans like myself who yearn for a new winger are the persecuted, we know it's not happening but we still can't let it go. Anyway, I personally think we need both a left winger and a right winger but baring in mind it's unlikely we'll get 1, let alone 2 what do you think is the most important for us? Somebody to come in and replace Barnes on the left? Do we want a left footed left winger or a right footed left winger, baring in mind we have no left footed winger available (both shit and out on loan) Left footed left wingers aren't as common as the old days, the ones that spring to mind are Leroy Sane (no chance), Oyarzabal - highly unlikely, Lemar - if Wolves get him then he ought to have been an option for us, Leon Bailey - potentially gettable for a big fee. Right footed left wingers, Everton Soares from Gremio - being linked with Everton which means we ought to have a chance, Milot Rashica - the sort of player we should be looking at and able to get given our ambitions and placing, Stephen Bergwjin - like Soares or Rashica we ought to be able to attract players like this, Frederico Chiesa must be pissed off in Florence, it's an absolute hovel, Come down the Blue Armeh pal, Hee-Chan Hwang is sat there with his bags packed waiting for us. COME ON!!!!!!!!!! Left footed right wingers, aaaaah hello darkness my old friend. The holy grail of modern football, there's no better sight than that fleet footed left footed magician out on the right, taking bodies and ending worlds. I'm not crying, you are Riyad. You want to come back I know you fcukin do, you little slag. Anyway we've moved on, let's just go and get...….. Calvin Stengs, or David Neres, or Dwight McNeil, or Riccardo Orsolini, or Viktor Tsyhankov, or Cengiz Ünder, or Suso, or fcukin Yannick Carrasco. As if he's sat there right now in China happy with himself, you've made your point out there Yannick, now come and be the Third Musketeer with Youri and Dennis. Wingers are pure sauce, Brendan is playing with blokes like mines livelihoods. I need a new winger. We all do. #WINGERSMATTER 2 7

Maybe Liverpool would want to help us take points off them.
Deeg67 Posted 15 January 2020 Posted 15 January 2020 Teams are not going to let players go out of the goodness of their hearts, just because we need somebody or the player would like to play more. It's a business, and a ruthless one at that. Never happen. 1

Yes of course You pay the going rate don’t you. Personally I think Dunk is an exceptional centre back and am surprised he’s not an England regular. I rate him more than Maguire for instance. And Ward-Prowse is ever-improving, brill with the dead ball and hugely energetic. I rate both very highly.

Fox92 Posted 15 January 2020 Posted 15 January 2020 We need a winger, someone that scores and creates consistently, but I feel in a January inflated market this isn't going to happen or if it does then it'll be a loan move.

It makes no reference to us not pursuing a winger or other positions bar a CB. Maybe that's what they are insinuating, because it only talks about us getting a CB in on loan must mean we don't want a new winger. I personally think that's untrue.
